I could have bet that he made a full but quads it's total ownage.

I wonder if you played the hand a bit more aggressive you could have steal the hand on the turn? You had any experience with this player?

no but haveing hit trips on the flop there was no way he was folding any bet.

i actually have folded trips at flop but were 3x same colour cards + opponent made crazy raise+ were kinda bubble+ was pretty much my last money KK=
i think at same tourney i ended up at final table soo i guess it was good fold even if he had only chance to win me

THis is more like bad play than a bad beat.

Firstly you should never have been in a hand out of position with KJ suited.

Secondly, a player with position on your raises 2 limpers. Pretty obvious he's got a decent hand. Large pocket pair is almost certain. Being out of position, this should have been an instant fold. Calling the raise was stupid.

The moment the board paired then you were obviously dead in the water. If he had AA, QQ, AQ, 77, Q7, 10 10, Q 10 then he had you beaten. Why would you shove over the top of him when he's clearly hit a full house.

You should have check folded the river, instead you should have known he had a hand like AA, QQ, AQ, and with the board showing a clear boat, then a check fold should have been the correct play. Shoving over the top was ridiculous.

Yes the outcome was sick, but being honest, you should never have been in that hand in the first place, you failed to read what hand he had, which being honest was blatantly obvious, and finally, when he rivered the nuts, you should have called at worst. Any player with half an ounce of common sense would have folded.....

I dont see a bad play there.
He just was unlucky. Flop was rainbow and he had A high straight.
I would have gone all in after the bet if that matters.
And my opinion is that he would have called the all in too.
Better luck next time.

i must say this is an excellent review of the hand by any chance do you happen to maybe make a thread or something abouut position play i know it a bit but i think i would improve in play if i knew all ive read multiple articlesabout them but most were very vage i also read that kj is a very bad hand to play in any positions whatsoever i mean kj os ofc so yeah excellent review Big Smile

I think you should go all in after you see that turn because he could call till a card double or if there will came a Jack or a King, but anyway you can't beat the jokerstars soft...
I think that card can't double just if you flopped a royal flush or straight.

I agree here with the fact that he should not be in this hand ( limping + calling the reraise)

but also the fact that he did not reraised the turn is a big mistake

he had the best hand at that moment and the turn card 7 Club was of no value.... he should have gone allin to give his opponent a very expensive river (assuming he had a set already and haviing 10 outs for a FH or quads)

going all in after that river was bad play.....as there was a pair on the board

Ya,....that one SUCKS BIG Time.... I more or less agree with fcum, but you had the makings for a nice hand which came together for you! And the chance of seeing Quads is an extreme long shot. As mentioned above, buddy was going for the trips when he struck it rich...

It's tough to just let somebody get away with a hand that YOU MIGHT have won... I probably would have played it out too unfortunately... Confused

According to Todd Brunson you're holding a Trap Hand that is easily dominated OOP. To quote him here "if the KJ is suited, along with its straight potential, being suited can make this trouble hand playable if you don't have to put too much money in preflop." Too many hands dominate the KJ even suited; A-A, K-K, Q-Q, J-J, A-K, A-J, K-Q so if a 3bet/4bet re raise doesn't get him off the hand a fold is the correct play. Seen this happen all too often where one is the Hero on the flop and Zero on the river. It all makes sense if we can hit ranges correctly.
