Calling Stations  0
As much as I love these and fish on the cash tables I am starting to get fed up with all the luck and loss of hard earned bank roll these players are getting. Just had one guy call my 4xBB raise with A10 when I was in position and he called with 94o. Flop shows A44 then turn a 10. Awesome suckout as usual but I am starting to deal with it better now by not kicking off and logging out to regain my composure.

Anyone having problems or had enough of these or do you still win more against them then they luck out like me but they just annoy you when hitting big with air?

Sadly there is nothing you can do with idiots like that. People like Durrrr and Isildur have made it common for people to play just about any 2 cards in any position.

I would however question why you are raising 4 x BB with A 10. If he's limped in then you can bet he'll call the raise no matter what he's got. That's what donks like to do. They always aim to see the flop and hope to hit big. In this case he hit it big and had ( no offence ) a sucker there to chip him up...

If someone limps in before you and you have a hand like A 10, then I would seriously consider folding pre flop, irrespective of position. I certainly wouldn't be raising. A 10 is simply too weak to be raising with,...

Anything less and everyone else will start calling. Some stations actually wont call if its out of they're usual area of raise, plus they guy who was a calling station is a big time calling station and fish so big raises usually stop him from calling so thats the only reason I raised that much. Usually I wouldn't, but 4xbb on 1/2 tables doesn't really matter it just keeps the idiots away.

Against those players you can forget any fancy moves. Just bet hard if you have a strong hand, and let them pay to see the showdown with their second pair.

Typical for some players to do a l 4 BB raise for any starting hand that ace...

Then they do not hit the flop and do a continuation bet

till there this is play is questionable

But when the continuation bet is called and you hit on the river you should be carefull like here you hit top pair with another pair on the board. You should watch out for the set.

So better chech postturn and looked what your opponent does.

and hope to get a free ride to the showdown.

With such hands I do not like to go allin agaist calling stations

Hmm hey man, looks like variance, you can't do anything about it, just keep grinding and lucks will turn around soon enough!

About calling stations, never bluff them and just value bet them and they will pay off eventually, they the best fishes you can ever get, they like atm spewing money.

Anyway hope you are back on track and just keep improving your game, all will be good!

Cheers!

with many idiots on the table i do not overplay any pairs/ two pairs on the flop/turn/river...just not worth it, very hard to read what morons are holding on to, besides their balls...so what i do is go for sets/flushes/str8s...limp in with small pairs, Ax suited, KQ etc.- do not force the action pre-flop (unless i have AA/KK)...

Against this type of player i learned over time that it's better to play a bit more tight and also when you get something do not place too big bets.

You'll notice especially on a NL game that even if they get a moderate hand they will go most of the times all in on river and then you can double up.

A real calling station will not go all in themself unforced. Unless they have the nuts.

So we are talking about a different type of player here.

And it continues. Second day of running bad and they have raped my bank roll down to the last 3 BI's. down from 15. Constantly calling my big re-raises with very low pocket pairs and hitting trips. The amount of times people have flopped trips against me this last two days is about ten times now and this with pocket pairs lower than 9. I have had about 3 trips in the last two days and they always fold.

Just had my big AA re-raise called by a guy with 33. You can guess what flopped. Such a joke how these guys always hit and luck out.

Oh well, I came back from a big downturn last week when I had 1 BI left so I can get back to where I was.

That's pretty much what ol' Doyle Brunson said in an interview I saw him in recently... He pretty much said that folks just don't have the patience anymore,...they just want it all NOW and it's more coinflips and bullying than anything else.... He doesn't like what poker has become!

I guess if you really want to play good poker, you just have to play the MUCH higher stakes. I've noticed in the bigger money games like the $27 and $55 stuff, you get a much better game where folks actually PLAY poker, but I just don't play those biggies very much. Pretty much the $1.10 through $11 games are my menu. It's 'fairly' decent poker... Thumbs Up

You have to buildup a bankroll first before going up, which is why I am on the lowest micros at the moment.

I won back 80% on my BR back so I feel better now.Was crushing a table earlier with the calling stations. Bread and butter I guess if I can look past those odd beats.

Take a small break and at that time review your history.
Then make a few changes and see if it works for you.
Maybe you should try another variation of poker, like omaha.

I have not played today as wanted a rest. I have been playing/grinding nonstop for the last two weeks so its maybe what I need. I did win most my lost BR back last night so I am going in the right direction still. I need to improve certain things which I tend to stop doing after a while of grinding.
