I use to hate this KQ hand and dont win very often wiyh it but today i was playing the brm freeroll on Full Tilt we were up to 12 plers left and i was 10 of 12 sitting with this KQs hand in small blind so i limp the big blind goes with a very good raise one called comes to me. So i thought ok i will finish 12 so i shoved
and it a straight and won the pot. Made final table and finished 3rd. by the river.

Copy of this hand enclosed.

I do not like it either but i see thta in this particular hand you had AK, not KQ Confused

If you are talking about KQ i usually prefer to be suited, you rarely hit a full house with it, the best chances most of the times is to hit an ace high straight with it.

Not one of the hands i really like. It is a "must hit" hand. If we don't flop a pair or a strong draw we are most likely behind. And if we flop a pair the hand can be dominated. Difficult to play.

i like all hands that i win with, but then again i do happen to lose with them oh so often as well- probably i have to admit that poker is rigged and fcukin software providers are after me... they just smell my $2.45 and rig their software in order to take my bankroll away- shameless bastards Evil

KQ and KQs are very strong starting hands in both limit and no limit Texas holdem, but not strong enough to withstand too much pre flop pressure, especially the non-suited hand. This is one of the hands that I tend to play more often in limit play than in no limit play due too the fact that when you hit a part of your hand on the flop it will often open up straight draws to your opponents with strong hands and there is always the chance an opponent may have AK or AQ so when you hit top pair you can be out kicked. Each section below will have separate advice for limit and no limit play.

I love KQ, especially the KQs one as you can make a flush and if you flop a straight and the other person get the other end of the straight like lower end you can make him pay but some times you could get busted too if he has the ace and you get a straight so be wary and don't worry about folding you can fold blinds just to be safe rather than turn over the cards and be sorry if they have the ace and you lose a stack! Anyway good luck mate at the tables hope you win more hands like that one above and make lots of money cheers. Big Smile

I like KQ especially Suited connectors that opens up a great combo of big winning hands but as always position is key for the hand result
I love KQ every times that I win the pot and hare it when I lose Aww crap!
Anyhow it´s better to have KQ then 72any day Big Smile Big Smile Big Smile

I like it as a hand. If it is suited most of the times i ill try to see the flop. From there the play
depends Smile Not one that i would call an all in preflop, unless in a bad place with low stack,
so its a good hand to shove.
You got lucky there, nice one.

KQ is a good hand, so I'm agreem with the limp, but you've got AK then effected a raise and most likely because the villain has QQ, ending in all-in pre-flop. anyway I think you played the hand well, it was just bad luck the result.

thanks for letting me be part of this community and please excuse my English and my writing errors

Greetings greatgamne

KQs is nice but it wasnt once i got trapped in a hand i couldnt get away from, with 2nd best hand. Sometimes youll even be like 99% sure ur 2nd best in that hand you still have a hand thats so hard to drop that makes you do some sort of poker suicide Big Smile
