I agree
In the past, BRM has always turned down suggestions for chat so it probably won't happen, but during the different poker tournaments we can exchange contact info. Just be careful, judging from some of the avatars mobbitts are using you may not want to make contact...

Would be a good idea but knowing our friend pochui i do not hink it will be a good idea as he likes to talk and he will talk a lot and it could disract us from reading the forum or playing poker haha, anyway on another note i think this will be a good idea to have chat, it will get people to meet the people they talk to on the chat and this creates a community and we can have fun in a community, cheers good luck mate at the tables!

in other words... ban pochui from chat even before it goes live and we're good to go
------------ oh btw it's not hard or organize this with some additional software/app... say Slack?

chat would be a good thing you can easily ask somebody what is interesting you instead of posting in forum and wait longer for answer you need one of the advantages is you will learn more about the members if you dont use forum enoough

I wouldn't mind the option and I definitely think an option to private message someone would be a good idea if say you wanted to discuss a particular hand or something similar. Maybe BRM have considered it before but the site has over 600,000 members and only a small percentage of members actually post in the forum so I doubt it is going to be a priority for the site.
If they have a chat, then half of us would be banned from using it within the first couple of days. Imagine all the times when they would have to moderate out some unkindly rants about the sites they affiliate to or simply just clean up after the spambots. A chat requires way to much attention and energy to run properly because of these things above.

Old subject. Has been discussed a couple of times and there is no way of this, happening. Already some times the forum goes upside down with just threads, imagine the mess with live chat. Admin would have to change his job description to nanny

Yeah that could be an option. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind seeing a chat section but admin just wouldn't go for it. Too much hassle and too much extra work.

Posted by bullettooth1: here's how the chat section would go:
member 1) "f*ck you" member 2) "f*ck me? f*ck you" member 3) "hey, don't say that to him. f*ck you" ADMIN **BAN BAN BAN**
next thing you know there will be no one left on here
It would be handy at times but just too much work for admin to moderate.
You forgot the part where member 1 says "I will have my lawyer sue you" and member 2 says "And my lawyer will sue you too" and member 4 enters with "My lawyer will sue all of you".
