An 888 apology!!  0
I think most people will know that 888 has been having some problems lately and I have just received an email saying sorry, which is good, also saying they were sorting it out with a few added precautions, including this part-
"On top of major connectivity enhancements, in the coming days we will add a “pause tournament” feature that will enable us to temporarily pause tournaments whenever we notice high level of network disruptions. All tournament clocks will standstill during this pause – same as in the hourly break of the tournaments. We will resume the tournaments once the network returns to normal behavior. "

A pretty good idea I think and hopefully other poker sites will take it on board as well. Smile

Maybe a good idea, maybe not. That depends on the time the tournaments will be paused.
You will have to be there waiting for them to restart.
At least when they are getting cancelled, you know its over and you can continue doing
other things.

No way, it a poker website and no need for a pause tournament feature. how stupid, how about just fix what issues you have. People will not know how long a connectivity issue will go for, It can stuff up like 3 or 4 times in an hour ( which it has for me ) so it will be 3 or 4 pauses. So am i mean to sit looking dumbfounded at my computer waiting, waiting, waiting. no I think i'll just play elsewhere and only play in the freerolls then who cares if they have issues, I'm not losing money

a pause feature you say... yeah why not, i already imagine it- i am playing some tourney in my spare time some day on the weekend, when the darn thing just freezes and after a few minutes a pop up comes along saying... "you're in luck fella- we can inform that this tourney will continue right from the spot it froze... on tuesday at ~2 night time... 888 poker- customer satisfaction is our priority"

I have heard there is a badass russian hacker group which is bothering lots of people, may be same group is targeting this poker sites, their ransom is in bitcoins.

They cant stop them as far as i heard Smile

The pause idea could work.... As far as I'm concerned it would be a lot better than being chip leader in a tourney that pays four-figures to first... only to be awarded twice your buy in back when something goes wrong.

Maybe if they said that all tournies paused would resume 24 hours after the start time, and have a choice of whether you wish to continue, or receive a pay out if you know you can't make it...

That way they would have 24 hours to adjudicate, pay and remove funds from the prizepool, then the remaining players can finish off where they left off the next day....

Just a thought.

Poker Stars says no PAUSING 888 says PAUSING. Whats next. I also received the same e-mail. Smile

They are hoping that they will not have this type of problem again but they are saying if they cannot fix it or if there is another hacking problem the tournament will be paused.
I don't see why that is not a good idea, when the hack happened the other week in a tournament I was playing about 10% of people were unaffected and carried on just taking all the chips, great news for me who did not get cut off,not so good for the other players who came back with about 2 BB or had been knocked out.
This way it is fairer for everyone, the only other option for the site is to either leave it and do nothing or return all entry fees which is then unfair to the chipleaders.
It is not a perfect solution but at least they are acknowledging the problem,I have not had an email from any other site who have been affected. Smile

Cheers that is why 888 poker and all is the best against party poker at least they acknowledge their fault whereas party poker will just let you down and even if you contact them will not help you nor compensate you and you will get tired of them and will lose money and time playing there! Anyway glad you get something for your trouble i would have don the same if i owned a poker sites, anyway peace out and have fun at the tables!

888 has a shitty software that is constantly breaking down.
It takes ages to get a support answer.
And it takes weeks to get money out.

But that's alright because now they have a button that pauses the tournaments, which won´t keep us waiting anymore...

OMG Aww crap! Aww crap! Aww crap! Aww crap! Aww crap! Aww crap! Aww crap!

Here I am chuckling away at the bizarre honesty in the words of POCHUI. I saw this message as an email from 888 and my initial (and still) response was that this saves them having to pay out across the board to everyone who was still in the game at the time, and allows players to continue the game, at some later time, at the discretion of 888. Not a fan of the idea, though I understand the rationale for it.

Well from my point of view "having some problems lately" is a big understatement.

First the problems are big - you get disconnected so often that playing is no fun.

Second: They have these problems since one month and nothing changes.

I want to believe they are going to fix this at some point soon, and wont fall into the same
category as party poker. Otherwise the players will turn to the FT and PS
and that is not good. We dont want them to have a monopoly Smile
The more there are out there the better offers we get.

The apology peronibar got was one of the best one.
Although it is casino chips and it is hard to cash out with them its is better than nothing,
especially if there are no play through requirements attached. Good luck with your tickets.

I called the hotline because I have had a disconnect on a final table and was out after reconnecting. They apologized and after a long discussion I at least managed to get a ticket for the 3.000 Dollar Booster freeroll on Monday.

That is not enough always. For example in your case you were already in a final table
which the outcome is hard to predict. You may had won that tourney, you never know.
But now instead you have a ticket which you can burn in like second hand.
