Hey all!

I'm just starting on my poker journey. I've been playing home games for a while and hope to create a bankroll. However I have no means to fund it so starting my grinding free rolls.

Been watching a few videos and also tune into a few live streams on twitch - good to see pro's play there hands and discuss how to play it. However also notice the difference in play styles between the stakes.

All ready played one of the Full tilt freeroll - cashed in it as well! Admittedly a tiny 4cents but it all counts! coming 89th out of 500 isn't too bad. Loved that structure for a free roll, lot of play in it aswell. 10 minute blinds are the way to go. Lost to a horrific bad beat- but who doesn't?

Yes i hope to come on here quite often! Where is every one from? UK here!

We have very good UK member here and you will see them very soon. Iwish you good luck in your poker challenge and i think startink with Full Tilt BRM freeroll was a good choice cause a lot less entrants then on stars. Smile Smile

You come across as very enthusiastic, so I'm sure you'll do just fine. Just remember, never stop learning, never stop improving...

Play the game to get good at the game - not for money or fame... and when you get good, the money, and maybe even the fame, will follow Smile

Good luck, I started mine at the age of 16. Yes I started playing online poker at 16 and won real money too Dollar

well you picked the right path dude- if one has a zero roll, freerolls are the way to go to build experience and roll for that matter. 100K freerolls at stars are an easy way to get 5-10 dollaros every month even for a ball shaved monkey... best of luck at the tables, under the tables and in between the tables. keep us informed.

I check in most days to see what's going on...

I'm playing a lot of Scheduled Multi-Table tournies at the moment... still kind of, but not whole-heartedly going for Supernova... and with work and college, don't have a lot of spare time - so that's why I haven't been around too much.

Got my OPR ranking to the brink of 99% and have had a lot of decent scores recently.

Some of the best advice I have ever received is this:

You learn more by studying when things are going well, than when they're not. If you only try and learn when things are going badly, you will never improve...

So I'm focusing a lot on learning and improving... and playing... and less time talking about it Big Smile

Hi mate.

Welcome here and the poker community was well.
Yes is a good idea to start playing on freerolls, and stay and play in the bigger poker rooms, to not happen what happen other players in small rooms, just advice you.

And the learn of poker is every day playing, read foruns, see videos and some streams like you did and do.
So keep going further and update us with news from you, ups and lows Big Smile

Thanks for all the kind words!
Last nights session wasn't too bad! had the $0.04 cash in the full tilt BRM freeroll.
and a couple of final tables in the coral freerolls.

then I saw the points sit n go's on PKR- keep getting to the 3rd round but rarely cash it that- But its not about the money at the moment- experience experience experience. Think i'm playing a bit to agressive pre flop and too passive post flop but not really had a sample size to see any patterns yet.

I hope that you have other things in your mind also as a back up, cause following such a dream
has ended up to nowhere for many. Just dont get disappointed really fast, and always
adjusting your game by mostly reviewing your play history.
Good luck with it.

Yes! I'm studying Law at university and just finished for my summer vacation so going to have a go during the summer and see where It leads me. Hoping for it to become more of an extra income more than become a full time grinder + playing Wsop (but who knows)

Hi Curtlyref. Welcome to BRM and to the forum, where you will get the opportunity to learn lots of useful information to help you develop your game. My advice would be get a couple of well rated books and have a read through the advice contained therein. Also use the sites lessons and training sessions and videos to help.

Don't worry too much about ball shaving! It's all friendly banter which I am sure you will get used to.
