Poker Stars Showtime Hold’em Poker  0
Wouldn't it be great to know what cards your opponents folded, every time? Well, now you can!

Showtime Hold'em is our brand new poker format. It plays just like Texas Hold'em, but all folded cards are exposed face-up until the end of the hand!

With Showtime Hold'em you'll get:

More information > Use it to make better decisions, every hand
More excitement > Bluff them off the pot, then see exactly what cards they had!
The bigger picture > See your opponents' discards and adapt to their play

Try it now and see how a small change can make a big difference to the game you know.

Showtime Hold'em is available for a limited time only as a surprise addition to our wide range of cash games. There's a seat open for you under the 'Showtime' tab.

PokerStars certainly tries to enter new poker game formats in order to attract new players or leave those who are already registered there ... but this format of the poker game I saw more recently at 888poker .... and there this format did not last long ... PokerStars thinks that they will get better?

I think they introduced this a few months ago, I had a chance to see how this game works but since I did not play poker at stars I did not even notice that has not even begun to use this game, but I can tell that it was interesting to me and I like it Smile

“Showtime Hold'em” at PokerStars seems very interesting to me. With the opponents' mucked cards exposed and visible until the hand is over, there will be a lot more mathematical elements to the game, I guess.

I don´t know...Know wich cards the oponents was folded is a dreamed situation, but it isn´t the same game. And the oponents can see your folded cards... You have to adapt all your way of play to this matter. I don´t find the advantage, only the momently pleasure of breake the mistery. Confused

I do not like it and I do not think it has much functionality. At least I think that real players, rounders or professionals do not think they will play a lot in that. Just as one can discover ranks and which hands fold their rivals, they also discover their own game, expose themselves. In addition to that the good players usually, before the novices, they do not need this format of game to know their letters.
I think that only recreational or new players try it.

Changes the amount of info the player gets espacially on full ring tables, where this can reach 10+ folded cards preflop. On the other hand, in heads up play it may only be helpfull in the long run as the hand is over, if one player folds.

Remains to be seen if pokerstars will be able to attract players with this new format. If they succeed with this thing, then will have to keep players at the tables. If they do not succeed in the longer term with Showtime Hold’em Poker then this game will be remain anonymous.

as far as I remember this format of the 888 poker game was not for long ... apparently the players did not show interest in this new format of the poker game .... it seems to me that PokerStars is wrong marketing ... instead of new formats, ... promo from PokerStars I already do not remember

I got that mail from them on day that I posted,so this must new thing at their site!they say that this will be for short time in last sentence,so what if people would like it very much, what would be then!if people would play on this way,let them to have this kind of poker!

This is surely only a test run. If the format will prove popular, it will pop up again rather quickly, and as long as it stays popular. If not, it will just disapear, and they will try another novelty at a later date.

They are now trying to fix the mistakes which they have done in recent years. I say they will not recover the players who had it. The commissions are higher, the games are more ugly and the system with Fpp, Vpp it disappeared. Until they do not bring back the good things they have no chances with the exception of games that make history in online poker. Showtime Hold’em Poker is not one of them.

at least this kind of poker is better then some other type of poker, when they wanted to get new young players with some kind of space poker and other stupid things!this poker have only difference in end of hand and everybody can try it!

This reminds me when Coca Cola changed to New Coke, and it did not work for them.
I think that the idea of Show Time poker will not work, at least with respect to the great players, who have gone to other venues or who are on the way to do so.
Possibly it works for the new players that are appearing and that every time there are many more.
In short, they will continue making money.

they have nothing to lose if they try with this, they can just earn from it!if people wont be interested, they can just close everything!but in words that I posted, they say that this is only for limited time as surprise addition!

There is a great likelihood that many players will get involved in the hand in which they normally won't just to see the flop and later streets. The size of the pot can bloat enormously (on occasion), which generates more rake for PokerStars.

well people will pay more to see what other player have, did he bluff or he had winning cards and to see how they are good when they need to read everything from opponent!we all know how many times you asked yourself did he had anything or not, should I payed that or not!

This idea of the amaya group was thought excellent and put into practice. That's the pokerstars system, only for more money. If this game will bring benefits to the players it would be ok but we must expect other people's opinions to see if it's ok to play this game for a longer period with succes.

Surely it brings benefits to Amaya. People always try new things, and it seems to me that PS loses nothing with trying. Moreover, they have more chances of winning much than losing little.
Now I read well, and had misunderstood the operation of the format. I thought we could see the folded cards, once the hand was finished, but now I see that they can be seen before it ends.
It would require a lot of analysis, for now I prefer to continue playing normal poker.

I watched a movie about this game and for now i can not fully pronounce about how beautiful it is this game or how profitable. I'll have to try to see if i like it or not, but i read many positive comments. Perhaps this game will resist in future. We will see this and maybe we will talk about this.
