Eric Buchman, 29, from Valley Stream, New York started playing poker 10 years ago and was in the beginning just a break even player. But it only took him 2 years until he started winning. During his career as pro he has achieved quite a lot. For example he has cashed 9 times in WSOP and also has some great results from online poker cash games. In the beginning of the Main Event, Eric just had the strategy to survive to the next day. But on the last day of the tournament he changed his tactic and tried to accumulate as much chips as possible so he would put himself in a position to win the tournament. As the final table kicks off on Saturday, Eric is on second place with 34,800,000 chips.
Eric's final table strategy
So what tactic will Eric Buchman use on the final table? Will he played relaxed and let the other players knock each other out, or will he play aggressive and head for the chip lead? In an interview he made some time ago, he didn't give much info on his final table strategy when getting the following question...
Starting off second in chips, how do you plan on staying focused and not relaxing too much?
"I plan on playing a few sit and go's when I'm online at PokerStars and a few games with some friends whose games I respect. But I don't really think taking a few months off will make me not focused. When I get to the table, I will be very focused.";Eric answered.
In the interview one can also read that he plans on buying his girl friend a new car for some of the winnings. However, he doesn't mention anything about buying himself something. Maybe he will use the winnings to play the highest cash games with Patrik Antonius, Daniel Negreanu, Tom Dwan and all the other high stakes pros? Time will tell!
