That animals can learn how to do the most amazing tricks, is nothing new. But that a dog can play poker must just be something that is not possible!? Or isn't it? The yorkshire terrier "Jillli" is the living proof that it's possible for a dog to learn how to play poker.

The Yorkshire terrier "Jillli" was homeless until Rick Caran took care of her. Rick Caran almost instaly noticed that this dog was something special and also very smart. These things he could see thanks to his good knowledge on dog training and also because he wrote for a dog magazine. However, Rick started training the small dog "Jillli" every day and after some time he managed to teach her to play poker and also basketball.

When Rick Caran is asked how he could manage to teach a dog to play poker, he answers.
- "That question I get very often and I always answer the same thing."
- "Jillli was a dog living on the streets without anyone taking care of her until I started taking care of her. In the beginning she wasn't' used to have a home, so she used to sneak out on the street and hangout with the cool dogs that were drinking and smoking cigarettes. This of course lead to that they started playing poker"; says Rick and laughs.
