World Poker Tour expands

World Poker Tour has after alot of encouragement chosen to expand the tournament series, which now comes to smaller tournaments in the U.S. and in Europe.

Usually, a WPT tournament buy-in is $ 10,000, which very few amateur players are ready to throw on the table to play a single tournament. Now the people behind the tour has decided to make smaller tournaments, which is probably most similar to the popular WSOP Circuit Events.

The smaller WPT tournaments will not give an actual WPT title, and you won't win the familiar buy-in of $ 25,000 for the WPT World Championship. There are also no points given out to the 'Player of the Year'-race.

The first of the 'small' series will be held in Florida and Indiana, while we have until February to look forward to a stop in Europe, when dazzled up for WPT National Series: Paris at the famous Aviation Club.

Main Event will have a buy-in of $ 5000, while there will be plenty of side tournaments.

Just wait a few years, let Helicopter Ben print a few trillions of dollars in this time, and $10,000 entry fee is no longer a problem.

though they have decreased the buyin dont think it will be that effective cos the winner not gonna get any title or entry to wpt championship, but still smthing for wannabes to make a name Blink

I like the idea of the tour expanding. I enjoy watching it on Tv. I agree with some of you other people though it gives some other players and maybe amatuers the chance to play in some pretty decent tournaments with the expansion.

maybe you need now less money to buy-in,but its still big money!you need to have much more then this 5000 Dollar ,then you can play this kind of tournament without worry would you win something or not and you can play relax!
