A total of 249 players signed up for the season XI World Poker Tour Barcelona main event earlier this week and yesterday, after four days of play, the final six battled it out on the final table. Characy Khun, from Canada, sat down at the final table with the largest stack and, believe it or not, he eliminated every single opponent during seven levels of play to lay hands on the first place prize of $258,448 - the largest cash of his career!

Characy Khun must be thrilled with this victory, having also made something so unusual as being responsable for sending home all opponents he had at the final table. I can only imagine this comparing to some SnGs i've already played, in which things start well, with me elliminating the first leaving the room, and then do it again with the second one. At this point, i see myself with more than 4,500 chips while all of my opponents have only around 1,500. Once i made it with four and i happen to have more than 8,000 chips, but i never made it with all at the table. Must be a great feeling, even more at the final table of a big event with a nice reward... dream, dream, dream...

Nice pay day for Characy, deserved the win for eliminating every opponent too. Used his big stack and was aggressive when it mattered at the final stages of the event.. Good Job..

The Canadian pro didn't need to overcome a raft of big name pros on his way to a $258,448 pay day; however, he did have to contend with some aggressive opponents.
1st Chanracy Khun $258,448
2nd Benjamin Pollak $162,822
3rd Antonio Alfaia $107,256
4th Najib Tahiri $80,119
5th Bruno Garcia $59,443
6th Sergio Fernandez $47,813

Congratulations to the winner, thats indeed a very nice prize Big Smile

I think the most surprissing fact is that he managed to be the table chipleader and won, many times usually players in his position get eliminated for a reason...
