Tags: 2014 November Nine, Felix Stephensen, Jorryt Van Hoof, Martin Jacobson.
Posted on 11 November 2014 by "T".

The 2014 World Series of Poker Main Event has been narrowed down from nine to three players after the first day of the November Nine final table (the first day lasted for 244 hands). Dutchman Jorryt Van Hoof has the chip lead with 89.625 million in chips, Martin Jacobson of Sweden sits in second with 64.75 million, and Felix Stephensen from Norway is the shortest stack with 46.1 million.

The trio will return tomorrow at 5:30 pm PT and battle it out for the World Champion Title and, of course, the massive $10,000,000 first-place prize! The blinds will be 500k/1 million with a 150k ante when play resumes, so all of them have pretty deep stacks to work with! Check back tomorrow for a final table recap!

One player to rule them all! Van Hoof has an interestingly plain nickname though. I'm sure none of the sites going to call him that after he wins this one.

The Flying Dutchman is a legendary ghost ship that can never make port and is doomed to sail the oceans forever. The myth is likely to have originated from 17th-century nautical folklore. The oldest extant version dates to the late 18th century. Sightings in the 19th and 20th centuries reported the ship to be glowing with ghostly light. If hailed by another ship, the crew of the Flying Dutchman will try to send messages to land, or to people long dead. In ocean lore, the sight of this phantom ship is a portent of doom.

G'day mates
Well I wish them all luck at taking down the first place spot.
I do not really care which one of the win.
talked with a few other players I know and nobody seems to care about this years WSOP.
it is said really that the so-called main event has dropped off this way.

Didn't think jacobson was in doubt once he got the chip lead. His grind was so real, >30BB for a lot of the final table, and he kept his composure. Great performance.

Its great to see the final table being payed at last. I really hope that they go back to the old way and play the entire tournament in one go. To wait for so long before we crown a winner is bafflling

I was keeping track of the final on Twitter and the 4th placed finisher,William Tonking, was probably one of the more active players on the final table and with only 4 left he got it all in with pocket twos, called by a pair of tens and after a flush sweat he was out in 4th.
He is obviously a good player to have got to the final but I would have hated to be all in with only a pair of twos, and would be very disappointed to go out in 4th.
