Three New Players Have Joined Team PokerStars Online

Posted on 28 February 2014 by "T".

A total of 500 PokerStars Supernovas applied to be part of Team PokerStars Online this year. It sure wasn't an easy task for Team Online manager Chris Jonat and the rest of his crew to pick three new representatives who will be under the flag of the big red spade...

"We had a number of fantastic candidates during the open application process, many of whom we'll be keeping tabs on going forward. Ultimately, we chose people who represented game types and countries that were new to our Team," said Chris Jonat.

So, who did they pick? Continue reading and you will find out! (all text from pokerstarsblog)

Katerina 'Katerina289' Malasidou
Oh, you know this name already, do you? So do we. Malasidou happens to be Team Online's Andre Coimbra's girlfriend. He convinced the woman from Greece to quit her job and focus on poker. And wouldn't you know it? She rocks. She's already made enough money to survive on her poker winnings and spends a lot of time in the hyper-turbo SNGs.

Matthias 'Mati312' Brandner
Matthias 'Mati312' Brandner is a specialist. How special? Well, not too many years ago, there were online players who didn't know Badugi was a game. Brandner now knows that game better than most and can now boast of being Team Online's Badugi ringer. The IT graduate from the University of Vienna now makes bank playing as big as $100/$200 in all the lowball games.

Luka 'LukaSteel' Kovač
Every team needs a good Limit Hold'em specialist. That is now Luka 'LukaSteel' Kovač. The one-time competitive skier switched to poker after getting off the mountain. It sated his competitive jones. He has paid his way through college, never lost his first deposit, and never had a 9-5 job.source: pokerstarsblog

I dont care. Even if I would play on the same limit as these guys, its still beyond my comprehension why would anybody want to play red spade players. In a knock-out tourey or whatnot I can see a reason, but otherwise I wouldnt even touch them with a stick.

I do not see what is the benefit of other players that there will be more team pros on pokerstars?

For them it could be an appreciation for the level they got on stars and in poker in general i guess. Not sure if on stars is available but on the old ftp when one pro was at a table the rake was capped at 50 cents for every hand.

Cheers at least they took a woman on, anyway to be on poker starts team online you don't need to be especially good, you need to be available for publicity so talking and bein at ease in front of the camera is good, or if you can target a particular audience will be good. Like a woman for female segment etc!

Big whoop. Not heard of any of them and no one will really care how they do.

I also dislike the blatant conflict of interest in sponsored players playing on PS, and also able to win money on there.

I dont think i'd be rushing to play any of these people. Their level of play is on an astronomical level above mine. It would be nice to check raise one out of a Tournament though

and in case u guys were wondering, im not one of those players. apparently, even my mass spamming 10 cents tourneys at the start of the month wasnt good enough for ps to warrant invite to their pro team. Oh well, hope dies last... so maybe... if i start 8 tabling higher stakes (25c this time around!) games, i might get ps pro invite?
 Theapple02/03/2014 19:57:30 GMT
nope no invite yet for me, but i wont give up just yet. Today i played one 25c tourney (by accident) but didnt cash out though, maybe thats why ps hasnt invited me to their pro team, yet?

now back to playing final fantasy, really needed this poker break Big Smile

500 guys fighting to get 3 wonder jobs? I had no idea there would be so many supernovas around there. Once i contacted the services of one poker room (one of the first 3d playing sites, never heard about them again, it was different from PKR, but can't remember the name...) to see if they would like me to work for them... They must have laughed so much with my email that i'm still waiting for their answer Big Smile What should be the main advantages for these guys in being Stars's workers? Not having to pay the buy-ins and getting all the profits in the same?

Good for these three players, they all worked hard to get to where they are, and now they can say they're team pokerstars players.

I don't see myself playing with the two males, because they don't play the same tournaments I do, however the girl I may play with, if she plays the same SNG's I do.

Rock on pokerstars.

3 from 500 supernovas get thie Chance, really not a easy Thing to be one of them. But the women are interesting, she prefer hyper turbo sng´s and is a winning player? Nice one, it is not easy to beat this game.
