Welcome mobsters, if you are reading this blog for the very first time, I thank you for your initial interest. I think that if you give it a little time, you will find something that will peak your interest.

I am a semi-pro poker player and an author. I am currently working on several projects for publication, and will be discussing them on occasion in this blog. If you are a fan then I warn you, from time to time there will be spoiler book ideas discussed

Section 1: Poker Tips & Concepts
The Bluff - There are players who try to bluff far too often.

While it should and can be a very effective tool in your poker playing arsenal it will lose its power to aid you if you try to use it too much. One of the key things required for you to have in order for a bluff to work is a good table reputation.

I put forth that if the players on your table see you as a solid, tight, serious player then you can once in a while use the bluff club from your bag of tricks. If however the players at your table view you as an idiot fish who is very loose and a weak poker player then you will not get away with bluffing much.

Also, every time you try to bluff and get caught and lose, you will be hurting your table reputation even more. I recommend to most players to bluff less and tighten up their overall game and when they do most time they become much more profitable players.
Until next time

Section 2: "Ronin's Bankroll Management Challenge"
Well this section is going to be familiar to the forum regulars as I have been running this section for awhile in the forums, It is about the single most important skill a poker player must have in their arsenal in order to be a successful winning player.

Bankroll Management has been estimated to be the single most neglected poker skill by almost 95% of all players. Countless books have been written on the subject, and yet most players most often just ignore the rules of proper bankroll management.

I too fall into this trap at times.

This section is intended to show how proper bankroll management can ensure that and good poker player who approaches his bankroll and poker play from a solid and disciplined position can succeed.

It also is intended to help me to remain focus and discipline in my own bankroll quest to succeed.
The next 60 bankroll challenge will begin Thursday May 08th, 2014.

Until later.

Section 3: The daily rant.
Have you notice how the prices at fast food restaurants have all gone up lately while at the same time the quality and portion sizes have both gone down. I do not mind paying a little more for my convenience food purchases which I know are bad for my diet when the quality is good. It does however tick me off when they raise the price and lower the quality of what most people would agree is less then great food to start with.

Restaurants should curb their unending desire to greedily make more money slightly and at least maintain the current low levels of food quality or it will cost them money and customers eventually.

Well until next time, be cool.

Section 4: The call of the Muse (Wednesday's)
This section will also be familiar to forum regulars. I am resurrecting Ronin's Short Story blog which I ran for a time. Yes mobsters I am going to write more poker based shorts here on BankrollMob.
Coming soon

So until later mates.

Prices gone up on all food products everywhere this year.
Sometimes it's weather related (bad crop, shortage etc.), sometimes the market playing 'push or fold' with the potential investors and shareholders (you know - coffee and cocoa bean, sugar and corn products etc. - these products always priced by the market for the wholesaler in the food stock exchanges).

And say thanks to the gods you don't live where I live (Hungary - the heart chakra of Earth), since we have 27% sales tax (!!! I am not kidding !!!) on everything here, including food products and every other consumer goods, so I am literally bleeding money real badly whenever I want to eat something I can't make myself at home...

The bluff is a big part of any poker players arsenal but only if used sparingly can it be effective. If you bluff too often, other people can see right through it and are waiting to check raise you

If you have a strong read, that your opponent is weak, you can throw out one bigger bet (3/4 of the pot+) and you will see, that lot of the times, he will fold, especially on scary boards.

Bluff is ndeed very important in poker but i think for all players and especially new players we should warn that on micro or low stakes bluffing is a very bad decision...

holy shitting balls. 27%?? I thought the UK was terrible with the 20% rate we have recently (usually it was 17.5%) and that burns a hole in the pocket.
I hate seeing my receipts and seeing the government take most of my money.

G'day mates

It is only going to get worse as the USA dollar collapses and the worlds economies crumble along with the US currency. The world is getting sick and tired to the US$ as the worlds reserve currency. Hope you all are preparing for the bad times to come.
best wishes to you all

You kind of answered this to yourself. The dollar can't collapse since every major countries economy depends upon it's well being. Their debt chaining them to the chinese, german, french and scandinavian goverments directly - so until the FED not going to give up the right to print money, they will be alright. Nobodys interest making the USA go bankrupt, since that would bring not just economic but other major issues with it - and nobody wants that.
Yes, some clean slate or another banker (or stock) bubble inevitable (just look at how the tech companies grow it's ridiculous), but the dollar won't collapse anytime soon.

I am glad, that I don´t fully understand the economics,

because if I did, I would be constantly scared of some collapses and bankrupts.

you need a good oppenement hand read before bluffing and more important that u need to left an impression a tight player in her head.

G'day mate

The dollar is already in a controlled collapse.
The US$ is only worth 5% of its value from 1972.
I recommend you watch "The hidden secrets of money" by Mike Maloney
It is a very interesting youtube series

Don't confuse inflation of a currency with collapse.
 ddblt197009/05/2014 07:40:08 GMT
Inflation (2-3% per year) is needed for a healthy free market,

that´s a fact. Don´t be that afraid of inflation. Big Smile
