German poker professional Johannes Strassmann, who went missing last week in Slovenia, was confirmed dead a few days ago after a DNA test. Strassmann was visiting some friends in the Slovenian capital Ljubljana and was reported missing on June 21.
The police tried their best to find him by carrying out out numerous operations in the country involving helicopters, search teams and search dogs. On Friday morning, police found a body in poor condition of the banks of the Ljubljanica River in Ljubljana and immediately ordered a DNA test.
The DNA test confirmed that it was the 29-year-old Johannes Strassmann's body they had found. His cause of death was reported as accidental drowning. Duc Ngo, a friend of Strassmann, was with Strassmann's family when the DNA test was confirmed. Below is his statement:

we are all endless sorry to confirm that our friend johannes strassmann is dead. the death time was saturday midnight. there was no indications of a violence impact. death cause is drowning. it was a terrible accident. johannes was not involved in an illegal poker game. he was just visiting some old friends here in ljubljana. everything was just fine until this accident."
