Real-money Poker Apps from 3 Giant Poker Sites Now Available on UK Google Play Store

People who love to play online poker can now download real-money poker apps from three giant poker sites, partypoker, 888poker and PokerStars, which have been launched and made available in the Google Play mobile app store in the UK.

Currently, there is a restricted test being carried out in the following areas: France, Ireland and UK, which allows real-money gambling operators to present their apps for approval. However, to be approved, the involved gaming operator must show that they follow and abide by the "applicable laws and industry standards in the country" aside from having just only a valid official gambling license.

Players in the UK can now freely download the poker apps directly from the Google Play Store. Before this, poker players had to install an online poker app from the poker site itself and let it be installed from an "unknown source".

It is uncertain if this new development would significantly increase the number of players utilizing the mobile app, but nevertheless, the apps can now be easily available and can be downloaded for free from the Google Play Store in France, Ireland and the UK.

Poker on a smartphone while on the move? To much distraction for my tastes. So the uncertainty about the effect of those apps for the player bases of the poker rooms involved seems to be justified. But we will see.

They are trying to hook you no matte what.
Cause you may not have a laptop or tablet, but a smartphone? Smile
And now on google play.
I like the fact though that an excuse from many countries for the new laws, was to protect
their citizens, from the gambling addiction Smile

These governments do not want to protect their citizens from the gambling addiction but they do so because of the complaints made by many people. There are plenty of people who think themselves cheated by poker rooms and then governments take an attitude. Instead, poker rooms want more players and find some sort of options like this one.

You really think they do care at all, if you are going to get addicted or not?
I dont.
Its just a silly excuse in order to pass the laws they want trying to suck more from the companies,
and their own citizens.

Yes we want to protect you people, so from now on, we will start taxing your earnings....

I feel so safe now Smile

I know governments are not interested to protecting their citizens, they just want money but those complaints made by some people are considered by some more civilized and more correct countries. Surely in my country they are not interested to defending me but in SUA, Australia or anothers countries citizens are defended if they so request.
Thumbs Up

These are really going to be the future of poker and the big firms must be licking their lips at the thought of all this extra business coming their way and many more firms will surely follow

Mobile devices are everywhere. It's good news for Android users in the above-mentioned countries. Now they can comfortably download real-money poker apps from the most universally trusted app store, Google Play Store.

That was a good idea they had. If it is successful, which i dont see any reason why not,
they will follow with more popular games.
Lets hope that, the trip to the memory lane wont cost too much and it will be profitable.
Although with the same percentage in returns as the slots, this wont be easy.
More of a skill game now though....

I think its logical move, if operators have all the licenses and are operating on a legal basis then I don't see any reasons why they shouldn't be able to be on play store, they are legal business, so they must be treated like any other business

They will put their business in google play, because it is easier to fins install etc.
than be it a separate app from its poker sites url.
If they have have legal issues, will that be google's problem, for hosting them ?
Wonder how that really works.

Only benefit putting them into the store is that Google frequently does background checks on developers and picking apart apps looking for malicious traits and behavior. Other than that not sure what changes if anything at all.
