partypoker's Powerfest online poker series will guarantee at least $60 million in prize pool money to be awarded throughout over 670 events from September 2 to 23, and it's around the same schedule as the popular World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) that is hosted by competitor PokerStars.
This will be the 9th edition of the Powerfest and it is expected to become the biggest online poker series in partypoker's 17-year history.
The Powerfest online poker series offers amazing opportunities for every type of poker player, whether you're a high-stakes pro or a micro-stakes grinder, with buy-ins ranging from $1.10 up to $25,500.
Beginning on August 23, partypoker is giving its players a chance to win a share of $50,000 worth of Powerfest tournament tickets. You can earn free tournament tickets simply by putting in enough hours in cash games up until the September 1 deadline.
You can also earn entries into the series events via satellites.

The upcoming online poker fest is highlighted by 20 championship events - 15 of which guarantee at least $1 million in prize money, and this includes the $25,500 buy-in Super High Roller scheduled September 20 that has a $3 million guarantee. At least $735,000 will be awarded to the winner.

Versus PokerStars WCOOP
Powerfest will be competing against a strong competitor. PokerStars, the world's biggest online poker site, is scheduled to run its popular World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) series around the same time as partypoker's Powerfest, on September 2 to 17, and is guaranteeing more prize pool money as compared to that of partypoker's.
WCOOP is going to award its player at least $70 million in more than 60 events, with buy-ins ranging from as low as $2.20 to $25,000. The main highlight of the series is the $5,200 Main Event that guarantees at least $1 million to the lucky winner and a total prize pool of $10,000 million.
During the WCOOP series, PokerStars is also handing out 7 Platinum Passes that includes a $25,000 seat in a PokerStars PCA tournament in the Bahamas in January plus travel expenses.
