On Wednesday, July 10, Day 5 of the 2019 WSOP $10,000 Main Event kicked off at 12 noon local time.

2019 WSOP: Event #73: $10,000 NLHE MAIN EVENT

  • Schedule: July 3 to July 16, 2019
  • Venue: Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas
  • Buy-in: $10,000
  • Prizepool: $80,548,600
  • Total Entries: 8,569
  • Remaining: 106

Timothy Su once again the Chip Leader on Day 5
Timothy Su, who was chip leader in Day 2ab of the event, is once again the chip leader with 19,235,000 chips at the end of Day 5, considered to be the longest day so far in this tournament as it concluded around 2am on Thursday.

At the final hour, Su defeated 3-time bracelet winner Brian Yoon when his top pair of kings were no match against Su's bullets.

Afterwards, Su bagged an even bigger pot when he won against Yulian Bogdanov. Su said, "He was new to the table, so I didn't have much to go off. When I took a step back and thought about it, his line didn't seem to make much sense."

With just a few thousand dollars in recorded cashes, Timothy Su seems like an unlikely chip leader to ever go deep into poker's biggest tournament event of the summer. However, the software engineer based just out of Boston has managed to hold on to his huge stack. He looked to be completely comfortable and not out of place among the more experienced grinders in the fray. He said about his massive stack, "I'm proud. When the big blind is the starting stack...to think that's what we all started with is unreal."

This is actually Timothy Su's first time to attend the Main Event.

Trailing behind Su are players such as: 888poker qualifier Sam Greenwood (11,950,000), Duey Duong (11,765,000), Warwick Mirzikinian (11,430,000), Luke Graham (11,280,000), and Nicholas Marchington (10,835,000).

Other notable players who made it include Romain Lewis (10,600,000), Andy Hwang (8,660,000), Daniel Hachem (6,765,000), Antonio Esfandiari (6,630,000), Chris Hunichen (6,280,000), Alex Foxen (2,655,000), Preben Stokkan (1,100,000)

888poker Qualifier Update
In poker, you can never tell that things can go round so quickly - one day you're on the bottom, and the next day you're on top. This happened to both of 888poker's online qualifiers: Dean Morrone and Mihai Manole.

888poker qualifier Mihai Manole has managed to survive Day 5, with an astounding 5,685,000 chips in his bag at the end of the day. Manole, who joined the Main Event 11 times and only cashed once (122nd place for $52,718 in 2012), say this the very first time he's had a lot of chips and is still going strong as he advances to Day 6.

Unfortunately for Day 4 chip leader Dean Morrone, he got busted before the day's end. He finished 159th place for $59,925 - you gotta admit that's an incredible run for just $100, considering it's also his first-time ever to attend the WSOP Main Event.

Here's the list of End-of-Day Chip Counts, showing the top 20 spots for Day 5:

The 106 remaining players shall return once again on July 11, Thursday at noon local time.

Almost 8600 players were in the tournament, and now it is down to 106.
The player from 888poker managed to win almost 60k USD,
which is a great accomplishment, considering how he got in the tournament in the first place.
I cant see how much money the last player has secure right now, but it is at least
60k

Of course, this is a good achievement when, after investing $ 100, you make a profit of $ 60,000 .... this is of course wonderful .... But only 106 people are left and the prizes are more and more ... I still can’t find the broadcast of this tournament .. .. it would be interesting to see the final table

Of course final table is interesting, but I prefer see day1 video. I saw some of them and sunday million final table as well ( final table ), rare I saw special tactic. Do them play the same, early MTT and final table?I am sure pressure is different, because at final table they already get huge prize. Like me, play at final table ( micro buy in MTT Tongue Tongue ) more relax.

It is normal for the tournament to be a long one because it is the main event. The other $ 10,000 games had fewer players and they ended faster. From the side of 888 poker remained one representative on the sixth day of the tournament. We will see a final table on the seventh day or maybe not.

Yeah, they more or less play it meek every time, there are not many exctiting bluffs and things like that because the stakes are that much higher.

The final table is interesting but you have to realize that the 18th place won about 400,000 dollars and i think the first 45 players they won beautiful prizes. It is not a smaller tournament where only the final table counts. Was a lot of money there and many players have earned nice sums.
