From these 5 players, it was planned that only 3 shall advance to Day 10.
Hossein Ensan, who finished Day 7 and 8 as the chip leader, managed to maintain his status as the chip leader once more as Day 9 ended. The German poker pro increased his stack by more than half on this day, bagging up 326,800,000.
That chip count is almost two times as many chips as Livingston (120,400,000) and Dario Sammartino (67,600,000) have, combined! Livingston also became a big mover on the penultimate tourney day after being second-bottom stack to now second in chips when the night ended.
Ensan was focusing already on how to deal with tomorrow's big day, "I have to prepare for tomorrow. There are three left and I think I will continue my same game. I have respect for all the players, but I have chips. When I lose one pot, I don't like it, but it can happen."
When asked if he thinks Livingston or Sammartino as the more dangerous player, Ensan quickly replied, "Both. I have more chips than both players and this is my advantage. Playing deep is easier than as a short stack. Dario is a big name, for sure, and Alex has played very good. We have three left and anything can happen. Garry [Gates] was second chip leader and now he is out. In poker, anything can happen."
Main Event Final Table - Players Eliminated The first to hit the rail from the final table of 5 was Kevin Maahs, who ended up in 5th place for $2,200,000. In a classic flip, Maahs failed to overcome chip leader Ensan's pocket 9s with his A-10 suited.

Half an hour later, Garry Gates was next from the chopping block. Holding sixes, he went all-in with his last 14 big blinds ($29.2 million) and Livingston snap-called with his pocket Queens. No miracle straight or six turned up. He finished 4th place for $3,000,000. Gates felt emotional and tears came out uncontrollably as a huge rail chanted his name when he exited the Amazon room.

For Livingston, it is going to be a Herculean task for him to remain at the final table on Day 10 since he will enter with 60 big blinds, but the same goes with Sammartino as well, who has 33 big blinds on the start of the day.
Livingston said, "Just to make the last day of the Main Event is pretty cool. As for my chip position, I have tons of big blinds to work with. So, I don't really care how many chips Hossein has. He has a ton of chips which is great for him. But, it's gonna be a long day tomorrow because we're all pretty deep. Today obviously went about as well as I could have asked for."
The remaining 3 players of the final table shall return on July 16, Tuesday for Day 10, the final day, 5:30pm local time. The 3 poker pros shall play until a winner is crowned.
so we are on last three man at this final table and we have huge chip leader with 326 million chips and he have big advantage on this two players,especially on third player with foru and half time more then him!didnt expect that this final table will take so much time for playing,but probably big fight is on table!
I think these last three players will not fit in one day of the game to determine the winner ..... you will probably have to play at least two days to understand who will become the champion .... there will probably be a very interesting battle between the last two players
Great survival by Dario !!! Even he go to heads up. Will spectacular if he win this main event. Will motivate us, shouldn't be down mentally when have lowest stack. Look like difficult to him, but nothing impossible in poker.
I did not expect places 2 and 3 in the top 5 to leave the tournament but it seems like this has happened. Americans are not in the top 3 and there are two Europeans and one Canadian, who are fighting for the title of main event from this year. I would like to win the Canadian or the Italian. It would be a beautiful return if this thing would happen.
