German poker player Christopher Puetz has won this year's WPT Germany Main Event.

He previously only had two live poker tournament cashes on record, both from King's Resort. He cashed in both in both the €1,700 WSOPC Rozvadov Main Events in March and October 2019 for a combined total of €11,111. Now, he has a €270,000 prize to his name.

The final 73 players were set to receive a share of the WPT Germany Main Event prize pool, from which 61 players came from King's Resort and the remaining 12 were those who made it through to Day 3 online at partypoker.

Chips Counts Almost Even going into the Heads-Up Match
There was little to separate the remaining two players - Laszlo Papai and Christopher Puetz. However, a cooler soon changed that.

Papai raised to 500,000 with ADiamond10Diamond, Puetz three-bet to 2,000,000 with ASpadeJClub and Papai shoved. Puetz quickly called and the dealer revealed 5SpadeKSpade9Heart2Heart7Spade. The stacks were then counted, leaving Papai with only 125,000 chips.

Papai automatically went all-in on the next hand as he held 4Heart4Diamond. Puetz showed QDiamond9Club. A double-up was on the horizon when the flop fell 4Club9HeartQClub, giving Papai a set and Puetz two pair. The QHeart turn gave both a full house, but Puetz's was far more superior. Papai needed the case four on the river, but 7Heart came up instead.

Having won all the 20,400,000 chips in play, Christopher Puetz thus became this year's WPT Germany Main Event champion. It was a title that came with a sweet €270,000 prize, which included a $15,000 seat to the season-ended WPT Tournament of Champions.

A consistent prize and a very good 1st place for this player from Germany. Christopher Puetz can be considered very happy with this trophy. There is nothing more beautiful in this game than 1st position. Congratulations to the winner and for rest of final table.

The final hand was a very strong one and the player who won was very lucky. He could win even if he lost this hand, but it didn't happen and it won spectacularly. He also received an entry to a 15,000 dollars tournament. The win was maximum in this game.
