888 Poker review overviewOverview
888 Poker is owned and operated by the Cassava Enterprises (Gibraltar) Ltd. which also owns and operates Casino-on-Net. 888 Poker is a poker site under 888.com which is one of the leading gambling entertainment websites on the Internet. Since its official launch in the year 1997, more and more people have experienced 888.com’s exciting gambling and gaming products on the World Wide Web. 888 Poker operates under a license from the Government of Gibraltar under the requirements of the Gambling Ordinance for the purposes of operating an Internet Casino.

888 Poker is considered as one of the world’s most famous online poker sites. It was previously known as Pacific Poker. For experienced players, 888 Poker may appear simple and not as classy as other online poker rooms. However, 888 Poker focuses more in simplicity and in offering great bonuses and promotions that can beat the offers of other sites. The 888.com is a very well-known company in the United Kingdom as this site sponsors a lot of sports events such as snooker which brings in several new players each day. This makes 888.com a good option for new players to learn and for seasoned players to take advantage of the weaker players. With this in mind, you can absolutely find a lot of loose players at 888 Poker.

Overall, 888 Poker has done well in the current years. It has listened to its players and has updated their site to meet their players’ demands for further improvement. As a result, they now offer great promotions, bonuses and freerolls. Since 888 Poker has many fishy players, this poker site is highly recommended for both new and experienced players.

Unfortunately, US players are not accepted.

888 Poker software reviewSoftware
888 Poker, previously known as Pacific Poker, has recently made a major upgrade in all aspects of its game. 888 Poker is fast becoming a great online poker site due to its more detailed table options, game types and extensive player customization.

The lobby of 888 Poker is well designed wherein each game type can be tabbed for easy viewing. Search filters are easy to use which allows players to navigate quickly and find the room where they want to play at. As for the rooms, they have made a new table design that is basically a large playing table with equally huge playing cards that are colorful and easy to view. Players have now three table views to choose from, six action buttons in every view, info boxes right at the table during tournaments showing relevant stats such as players remaining and stack sizes and a new unique sit-and-go tab. Player avatar choices have recently been improved and they have also added personalization options. Players are now able to resize the gaming window due to its mini-view functions for multi-tabling. You can get instant access to the cashier as well. For those who would want a faster gaming experience, turbo tables are offered as well.

Thanks to the recent upgrade of the software, 888 Poker is now Mac and Linux friendly. The upgraded version of 888 Poker’s software supports game play at 16 tables simultaneously with neat functions such as turning off chat massages, changing your table view and in tournaments, a player can view the tournament stats without leaving the table. Other additional features are the "confirm all-in" feature, chat callouts at the table and an action hand replay. 888 Poker also has Quick Play, the 888 Poker direct java version of the game, which means players can log on anywhere without even downloading the software.

888 Poker also has a section which helps you learn more about poker and its basics. You can improve your poker skills through their poker school which can be accessed directly at their site.

888 Poker traffic reviewTraffic
Real-money player statistics as of January 2010 have shown that there are about 2,000 ring-game players during peak hours and 8,000 tournament players at peak hours. This is mainly due to the fact that 888 Poker run their own events and attract many poker players from advertising on TV and from its sister site, 888.com Casino-on-Net. Most of the traffic is in the Texas Hold ‘Em and Omaha tables and concentrated in the limit games and tourneys.

888 Poker opponents reviewOpponents
888 Poker has been known to have a massive population of fishy players. Due mainly to its heavy promotion on TV and to casino players (from its sister site 888.com Casino-on-Net), the viewed flop percentages have hit as high as 80% up to the middle limits. The opponents at 888 Poker usually are weak due to the fact that they have mainly come from the casino tables and are just new to playing online poker. If you are looking for some juicy action at poker, then 888 Poker is the right poker site for you. The games are considerably known by many as one of the softest on the web – all the better for boosting your bankroll with!

888 Poker tournaments reviewTournaments
Tournaments at 888 Poker are fast, busy and extremely loose. Even the bigger buy-in tournaments offer loose play. You can play all the usual tournament styles at 888Poker including Sit & Go tourneys, Heads-Up tourneys, Multi-Table tourneys, Satellites, and Fast Tournaments.

Fast Tournaments are one of the unique features of 888Poker. You can play fast in 4 speed levels: Fast, Nitro Extreme, Single-handed, and Nitro Ultra. Nitro Ultra, a fast tournament with 7-second decision time restrictions and 2-minute blind increases, is absolutely the fastest tournament you will ever find online.

888 Poker cashgames reviewCashgames
888 Poker offers a fairly good selection of games which includes Texas Hold ’Em (No Limit, Pot Limit and Fixed Limit), Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, Seven Card Stud and Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo.

Haven't had a change to try this site yet, but mates say its not so good as it should be in some reasons..

I think its just average site, just like "stiborici" said before and it just needs to develop a little bit more..

I was playing at Pacific for some time and i am still playing sometimes but i think it's minimal above average.
Transactions are bad many of my friends have problems with them and sometimes they w8 more then week for withdraw.
Software looks crapy and sometimes it's really annoying , while playing u need to beware of straight cause in Pacific nearly everytime they complete.
Traffic i really low it's hard to find much table at higher stakes especially in the night...so players with SSS can't find much here
They are trying to make some new promotions to get new players but they loyality system is really pure...
U can exchange points for cash but u won't get much from them....
The best thing at Pacific are oponents. There are a lot of really weak players and i think that's the reason to play there u can get much from winrate because of them.
And another good thing is support... it's one of best i ever meet , but one thing which make me feel weird is that support can check your password because before every case they ask you about 2 first letters of your password which made me little suspicious.

While the games are "easy" the frequent disconnections and technical problems override any advantages and can make playing on Pacific extremely frustrating. I stopped playing there for almost four months and then decided to try again to see if the problems had been corrected. I lasted less than 10 minutes in a tournament before I was disconnected and my cards were folded. I re-booted and again, my hand was folded. It appears that nothing has been done and the same problems are going on at Pacific.

It is a good poker room with very tempting offers and the possibility of performance. It is one of the most popular online poker rooms with various promotions.

Software: 6 - Ease of use is definitely Pacific’s biggest virtue when looking about their software. There’s nothing fancy about the overly green look of the lobby but one will have no trouble navigating through it. Popularity: 7 - 888 Poker has managed to stay relevant in the world of online poker. The room is still pretty popular in Europe.
Security: 9 This is one place where people shouldn’t have to worry about the scandals that have plagued other rooms over the years.
Support 9. The room offers three different means of contacting them. Live chat, e-mail, and phone support.
Promotion: 6. $8 FREE bonus and 100% up to $400 + $25. Rakeback not available.

As Pacific Poker is operated by 888 Holdings (listed on LSE) and licensed in Gibraltar it is basically a very trustworthy poker room. However, there are some minor problems. The password is only 8 characters long and they may send it by email! I guess the idea is to serve casual and hobby players, not professional sharks. Their rewards program is not very generous. They calculate rake according to the weighted contributed method. The software is not as resource demanding as that of Ongame networks but not very good either. NLHE 6-max games are good. There is some action at full ring tables too. If you play Limit Hold'em, Omaha or Stud, they offer thin traffic. If you play Sit and Go tournaments you may have to wait for the tables to fill.

In my opinion Parcific is not the place i will play at. not because its a bad place to play at but i just haven been happy to play there.

Pacific Poker is the biggest room in the Pacific Poker network. Lucky Ace and Littlewoods are the two other known rooms. The software is no longer as buggy as it once was. They offer Hold'em, Omaha and Stud games, but no Razz. Traffic at Stud is very low, and can't compete with the bigger rooms or networks, even in Hold'em. Cash games start quite low, but the starting limits for SnGs are a bit high for a small bankroll. Cashouts in the whole group will take longer as usual. They will be processed only after a 4 days delay.

In my opinion, Pacific Poker is an average site. The tournaments are not the best, however the cash game is really good. You can win money easier than other sites. I don't like the graphics, but on the other hand it is easy to play and easy to use. Cash games are so good above 0.10/0.25$ blinds. There aren't a lot tours, like other sites, for example Full Tilt Poker. One of the best things at Pacific Poker is the Online Support. Maybe they have the best support. So I think this site has nothing special, but they give nice bonuses and chances to win packages to live tournaments.
