Canada Casino Player wins $3M Table Game Jackpot after just a Few Hands

A casino player in Canada has won over CA$3 million (US$2.24 million) after playing a progressive table game for just a few minutes.

Biggest Casino in Canada
Casino de Montreal is the biggest casino in Canada, with over 3,000 slot machines and 115 table games. It opened in October 1993, and it is owned and operated by Loto-Quebec, a crown enterprise.

Claude Martin, a resident of Lanaudiere, had plans to attend a Roch Voisine show at the casino's Cabaret music venue, but first decided to grace the casino floor.

Martin shared that after having dinner with his wife at Le Montreal Seafood and Grill, they both sat down at a 3 Card Poker table to kill some time before the concert. After playing just a few hands, Martin was dealt a royal flush in spades. The hand won the table game's progressive jackpot, which at the time reached CA$3,056,175!

Emotions got so intense that the couple didn't make it to the Canadian singer's concert.

 

Progressive Jackpot
Loto-Quebec's progressive table game jackpot is offered at its four casinos. The jackpot is funded from play on 3 Card Poker and Ultimate Texas Hold'em tables. The min bet on 3 Card Poker is $25, while on Ultimate Texas Hold'em it is $20.

To join in the progressive jackpot, a player must put a separate $5 side bet. The jackpot can only be won when a player gets a royal flush on either game with the additional $5 side bet wagered.

The progressive jackpot is offered at Casino de Montreal, Casino du Lac-Leamy, Casino de Charlevoix, and Casino de Mont-Tremblant.

Still Keeping Day Job
Martin, in his early 60s, is a construction worker.

Despite his age and the grueling job he has, Martin told the casino representatives that he has no plans to quit his day job, but of course, he does intend to splurge a bit of his freshly-won wealth.

Martin revealed he will probably buy the "car of his dreams" without saying any further detail on what vehicle or brand it might be. He also said he's going to look into buying a lakeside cottage in Quebec.

He also happily promised his wife that he will take her to another Roch Voisine show.

I do not know exactly how this happened , I mean they play normal poker at these games and they just put aside 5 dollars per hand aside for the jackpot ?? Is this obligatory or you bet aside only if you want to claim sth from the jackpot ?? They pay only the royal flush or also other hands sth (less money but sth ) ?? If it's only the jackpot , then it doesn't worth the money if you are a player with small bankroll . But if you have bigger Bankroll , you can play anything you like but ofcourse

it's nice to go to the casino and win important sums, but unfortunately few have this luck. Online, i don't know what the biggest gain is, but i hope to see similar news in the future.
