When one door closes, another one opens. For this woman, a really really big door opened up for her.
One lucky gambler managed to turn a $10 bet into a life-changing $14 million prize at a Reno casino after her cruise got cancelled.
She was able to crack the biggest Megabucks jackpot in the history of "The Biggest Little City in the World."
It happened at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa on Sunday, April 2. The $14 million prize is the biggest Megabucks jackpot ever won in Reno, according to IGT.
The player hit the humongous jackpot after she extended her stay at the Atlantis because her planned cruise was cancelled.
Atlantis general manager Cheraz Ecker said, "We're ecstatic for our longtime Atlantis patron and her incredible jackpot win. This is another amazing milestone to celebrate in our company's history."
It may be big, but the jackpot isn't the biggest Megabucks jackpot ever won in Nevada.
Back in March 2003, a guest won $39.7 million at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
In April 2009, Reno resident Rachael Renee Romanick also won $33 million on the Megabucks slot machine at Terrible's Rail City in Sparks.
This is the first Megabucks jackpot won in Nevada since April 2021.
Megabucks by IGT, a progressive jackpot slot game that can be found at several casinos, was first launched in 1986. When you win in this game, you truly win big as it resets to $10 million!
