As few of you might have read about me in the past I dont get to play as often as i would like and just lately its been even less than that. Christmas just around the corner and the fact my family has grown by 1 this week just gone have impacted my poker time no end. Now i find myself grabbing 20min here and 40min there. My game has been shocking to say the least, I flit on and loose befor having to come off as some thing has come up or i have to go out and sit in traffic for 2 hours before getting dragged around the shops clinging to 10 bags of gifts for other people...Agrhhhhhhhh (dont get me wrong I love christmas and having my son home is ace) but i'd much rather be on the poker.
I know its the fact im rushing the game and trying to force it that is letting me down.
I know I have to make the time to play a propper game.
I think its best if I try not to play over the christmas break as my time seems to be more precious in other areas at the moment. Besides if I do the cristmas thing at least my bankroll will be safe.
Another litte rant and it's off my chest......thanks for listening.....lol
to OP: Do you have a laptop you can play on ?? Much easier to find time if you can play in a living room or something.. so you're still kind of doing the family thing.. :/
If poker is important for you, you should sacrifice time from other things. A son needs practically 100% the time of a person but ... you are two, your wife and you so ... ask to your wife for time to play poker. Maybe your home won't be the best place to play so, maybe it's a good idea bring your laptop to some free wifi place like libraries, school, etc ...

i think if you play poker like tht with half of your mind on something else, then you'll end up losing money. you have to divide your time accordingly for both poker and family. maybe you can play poker lat night and during day time spend time with your family.

Yeah, you should play poker maximally concentrated !! thats really important. For example, just try to write something (for your work, or i dont know, a Xmas card) and play poker in the same time : impossible to concentrate right on both (or maybe youll just forget to write the thing and just concentrate on poker ^^ ). Here, what you should do is really determine sometime where you take 2 hours for u (for example, monday from 21h to 23, you just tell your wife if you can take those two hours for you! then nothing disturbs you ! ).
