Happy New Year to all Mobsters
So 2010 is upon us all and poker is still running through our veins, unless you still have alcohol running through yours.......(fejset)
I (no doubt not the only person) wanted the new year to bring improved rich's in poker and I (again no doubt not the only one) expected the new year to bring this as soon as the clock struck 12....lol
BUT
I have found out that I havent changed a bit ..... I still play the same cards and I still get the same (obviously not exactly the same) bad beats and other players still manage to river me
I have lost the little bankroll i had to play with over the festive period (to be expected i suppose playing drunk and tipsy). But whilst loosing the last $44 i realized that its not all you when you play, by that i mean i lost but i didnt play badly I didnt risk any thing i shouldnt have and geneeraly I was happy with the way I played. For instance I flopped a straight bet it and had 1 caller, I bet again and got raised (excelent as there isnt any flush available, and no pairs on the bored) so with the nutz i re-raised all in. I got called by this guy with trips who then paired the board to give him a full house... (I tell myself these things happen) could i have done any thing different to win this hand? NO I'm doing the right thing's at the right time and still getting rumbled
BUT (again)
This i can handle ....... my game is good .... I'm happy with what I'm doing even thou I'm not winning. I belive I'm on the right track to poker happyness......my poker chi is all good.
Dont be fooled that the change of year will change your game on its own, if you need a change or to change you'll have to do it your self.
Good luck to all in 2010....unless you are at my table. lol

Posted by xxxbchxxx: Pro coaching, where will you get that? does it cost much?
Well, know a couple on 2+2 forum, its about $60/$100 an hour.
That seens expensive to me, how many hours do you think you need / would benifit from?
Planning max $2K so cud be 20h/30h but maybe less dunno yet....
Will you take that out of your bankroll or fund it elsewhere? Is this coaching done online?
Out off my bankroll, i wud never spend any money on poker.
Its on skype/msn u can read it try 2+2 section coaching
I couldn't afford the fee, even thou i might recoup it within a small time scale with my extra knowlege. I thought your bankroll was sacred to you? never use it for anything?

Hey mister bch Nice post you made here (and i see the thread is becoming a chat ) Well, here is what i think : as a poker player, you should always think to change your game (i dont mean change just to change "oh why not become loose agressive now, and tomorrow ill be tight" ), i mean you change because you need to improve and improvement need changement (for example, as doomdy said, check your leaks and try to correct it). So for sure, 2010 or not, my poker will change Another thing : seeing the way you play (i didnt watch you at tables ^^ but reading the hand you describe), its seems strange to me that you lose your bankroll so fast. Maybe you have a change to do with bankroll managment (!! here i speak "in the dark" : maybe you have a perfect bankroll managment i dont know!!). Because normally if u play right (mean in the game and out of the game = bankroll managment), variance shouldn't be able to beat you.
Anyway, good luck and may the change be profitable (as 2010 ! )

That is my leak...bankroll managment. I like to play at stakes my bankroll can not support..lol I'll deposit each month and some months i'll withdrawal as well (when / if im up) so my bankroll is never over $300 - $400. This is due to my s**t or bust attitude and in the past i have been sitting there with over $1000 and blown it all in one night...thats gutting! so i make sure i cant do it again.
This thread got some lengthy posts pretty quick. You didn't mention what stakes you were playing but from the fianl amount you lost in your bankroll I would have to say it was micros. At those stakes you will see some amazing runner runner or miracle rivers since the cost isn't that much to stay in the hand and gamble. Compared to if you are in a casino where the blinds/limits are pre set to a much higher level. 2+2 is a good place to start to look for coaching. Even just reading alot of the threads will bring some new light to your game. No disrespect BRM I still love you. But yes, you should always be looking for ways to improve your game
