why do people go on about bad beats online like they never happen live? i dont play alot live but i do watch a hell of alot and i see people get really bad beats all the time. my theory is that u play alot more hands online and live u wont play that many in one night so u will see alot more online as a really long hand may last 2 mins. Or maybe im the only one who see's these things all the time on t.v For example on hig stakes poker negreanu is all in pre flop with KQ elezra calls him with 87 they run it twice and both times elezra hits a str8 if this happened online people would be shouting rigged for sure

You're right that bad beats are no more likely in online poker than playing live but watching poker on TV isn't exactly representative of typical poker. People often go on about online poker being rigged cos they are dumb and don't know any better. As you say you play a lot more hands and tend to remember bad experiences rather than all the nothing hands.
But TV poker goes the other way. They are more likely to show you entertaining hands and the footage is edited to make better TV. They also tend to make a fuss of the pros who play more exciting play for eg dwan. When play is more aggressive and hand range is loose then more bad beats are likely.

Don´t forget that poker online is a business that generate millions. Poker rooms want huge pots to generate money. That´s why the majority of the boards are really sick and bad beats happen all the time.

yes i know this but my point is they do happen. the way people go on its impossible for As to get busted by suited conectors and a short stack pushing with any old crap and winning thats all im saying some people think crazy things dont happen in live play when there is a saying luck of the draw for a reason. im not saying poker is a game of luck but people can get lucky thats all im saying

I completely agree with your point (in fact I'll give you +1) and people who talk bs about online poker being set up to create more bad beats or action hands (like our friend jporp here) get on my nerves as it isn't good for the industry or the players.
Lots of bad beats does not generate more profit. Rake is usually capped at a certain point so huge pots does not result in more profit either. Neither do action hands where several players hit good hands nor hands where bad play is rewarded.
My only grievance with the original post is that televised poker is not very representative of most real live poker. People thinking that they should play like what they see on TV is a problem of its own, but if it demonstrates to the 'online poker is rigged' idiots that bad beats happen everywhere then you're right.
I have played poker live several times and I can confirm there are plenty of idiots out there who think it's clever to pot raise 7 2 and deliver horrendous bad beats.

Everyone gets bad beats, whether it be live or online. Everyone also has somthing to bitch about. There are more posts on here and every other poker forum,( not that I belong or read them, just heard about it ), that are whinning about bad beats than there are posts about good play or poker in general.
lol There are also many posts with people whinning about people whinning about their bad beats.

Mainy because PPL who play live are not active in forums, and also when live you cant say its rigged. Ppl want an excuse when they lose, makes them feel better about being bad or unlucky.

the rake is capped at for a max of 3 dollars no matter which stakes you play, its less for smaller stakes obviously, so it really makes no difference, in my opinion at least

condoms are 99.9% safe, and people is still getting accidentally pregnant, or getting aids and stuff and there is not a hand that safe, so losing a hand is not that bad .
Agree, live poker is rigged too Of course if you are strong and skilled, you have many chances to face a badbeat just because poker is not a matter of luck ... or not ??
