I wouldnt be so sure about that.
I watched an intesting program about this casinos in Vegas and how they look after and treat there high rollers.
You would not belive the lenghts they go to to get the high roller to keep coming back, from free flights and rooms to trips out with pre loaded credit cards, partys and extras...Hmmmmm
But at the end of the day if the high roller is betting above his limit and go's broke they won't be coming back so a good understanding of their fundings and gambling patterns helps the casino to gauge how much they have won / lost.
In one bit i saw a "personal assistant" actually ask the high roller if they would like to take a break or stop for the night as they had been loosing heavy for many hours.
I know at the end of the day the PA is employed by the casino but they must build a good relationship with the roller (there tip could be massive).

First of all I thought this guy is clearly an idiot. The benefit from the prize of doubling his money is in no way comparable to the deficit of losing everything. It would be different if in one case he became a millionaire and lived his dream and if he lost he could build his life from scratch. For instance spending your last pound on a lottery ticket which has worse odds than roulette would be more sensible than this boom or bust idea.
When you consider the house edge, this is possibly the worst strategy for making money even by roulette standards but then he clearly didn't do it for money. This guy is a compulsive gambler and has done this for the thrill, the danger and because he can.

But then I considered what he did with the winnings and began to change my mind slightly. The publicity he must have gained could be the one force driving his site. What in fact looks like a double or nothing may have been in fact a quadruple or nothing for double or nothing odds. If he'd lost he could have sold his story to get his life back on track.
I'm sure also the casino could have benefited from this. They have a lot to make from this and so any generosity they show is profitable for them. They may even have paid him to do it.

Great film, great way of living his life, although i bet he wouldnt try that a second time... And who were those behind them? Perhaps their parents, willing to cover it all in case their son looses? "Ups, i'm sorry, here you have, dont mind about him, sometimes he just likes to play this games..." And pokerutd? Never heard, but went to the site to see and it didnt pleased me, no bonus for beginners, maybe another time i will go there again...

How real is this? I get the impression it's part of some kind of 'contest/game' show.
What happens before all this? Can't see anybody just being THAT stupid.

or a filthy double zero. Come play Aus casinos with only one zero.

Hah, I guess Im glad he won, but still, I was kinda hoping for a zero, I admit.

Anyway, WTF, that is crazy. And I like the way the casino staff say they'd never condone someone betting their life savings (100K+) on one bet like that "but.." hah. If not condoning it, then what was it exactly that they done.

"some grand adventure"? when isn't betting 100K+ that is everything you own not a grand adventure. com'on !
