Been trying to stay away from most of the freerolls due to being informed that there tough on beginners due to the recklessness of play. I do participate in BRM freerolls, but can't play to many due to work. Anyway, my question is, would you (Mobsters) recommend playing the HORSE, HOE or 7 Card Stud Freerolls until I became comfortable in learning the basic concepts of the various types of games?
Maybe not the best way to ask, but would appreciate any input. Good Luck and Good Day toAll.

I absolutely love playing HORSE! Not alot of players are jam up at all of the games, myself included, omaha high low is my worst game. You must also remember though that you are playing limit, which is a whole different ballgame, than no limit hold em. You can't just shove all-in and protect your hand, you must be able to make big lay downs, and maximize your value when you have the best of it. There are many more multi way pots as well, so you need to have decent had reading skills, to be able to navigate through the huge fields. I fin that these games are much easier for the patient player and they get really interesting once the blinds and antes get huge!

I wouldn't rely on all the players thinking they're playing the wrong game Green. True it does happen but not very often, and it won't last. That is the biggest advantage and dis-advantage to playing mixed games, you really have to pay attention!

I think learn Horse and other not popular poker styles can make for you profit , at PokerStars you can play these games for cash and I do not think that players at small limits are very good at it

Absolutely. The reasons are as follows: 1) HORSE freeroll will definitely have a much smaller field than NLH freeroll. 2) The opposition will be extremely weak. Some opponents will not know the rules of some games. 3) You might discover that some other types of poker (like lowball disciplines) suit you more. This happened to me. At some point I realized that my ITM ratio in HORSE is around 60 %. While for NLH it is around 20 - 25 %. Still, I can't force myself to play more combined events, because I am used to multitabling. And if, for instance, I play a 10-game tourney, I can't play anything else at the time.

Yeah, see the different games and need practice at 4 of the 5. Also, agree with Hoodi on that Omaha game. Got my rear kicked in it.
I actually did what mazas stated so I look pretty silly playing RAZZ when Stud HI came up. Won't happen again, I hope! Hajinnho, your right! It could make someone crazy! Hoodi and Schmoyster thanks for the advice. Actually thanks to all for the replies. And, jbrooksie! The freeroll HORSE I played and got the S**t kicked out of me after 1 round is at FT. Thanks again everyone. Good Luck at the tables and Good Day. I will try again (HORSE) tonight. One of the only freerolls I'm going to start playing. Need the practice and education.

I'm a beginner and just trying to learn for fun. I guess in order to play HORSE / HOE you need to learn to play the other games in order to place. Only answer I have. Good Luck!
