First joined BRM I couldn't win a $$. So I start reading asking questions and taking the game serious, but want to have fun with it. Not trying to make a living or anything like that. Anyway I start improving, placing in freerolls and small buyin tournaments. This was my week off work work and started out okay, but since Tuesday I've bit the dust and actually taking it serious instead of the happy go lucky as when I started (in BRM doing better). At this point I can't even place in anything for 3 days. Last good game I had was 3rd in $1+.10 Sng. This is after 4 straight losses in $24+2 SnG's. Am I getting to serious with the game? Do I need to give it a rest for a few days? Just thought it would be good to get this out. I hate letting things buildup in me. Cryin Like A baby Back B*#*ch. Thanks BRM for the forum to release!

These kinda things happen while playing poker: from time to time u shall hit a downswing and then after a good night/well slept night u are a whole new player and invincible at the tables! Just keep on tryin even in those freerolls or something cause the good day will come

You better quit your crying before I give you a reason to cry! You remember when your parents used to tell you that? Seriously though Green it sounds to me like you are playing way, way to high of stakes. One of my good friends who plays part time proffesionally and has a 12k bankroll play's 24$ s-n-g's. You are definately swimming with a bunch of sharks at those levels, not that there aren't donkies, those are at every level. At least you have a good forum to vent in! My advice would be to try moving back down in stakes, the games are ussually much easier to beat, which can improve your confidence and in turn your game. Hope this helps, stop banging your head against the wall and smile ur luck will turn around soon enough.

I´ll be honest and straightforward.
WTF are you doing in $26 SnG´s!!!!
You are a very nice guy, and so am I..but I want to "shock" you into reality!
Do you really believe a $1 SnG is the same as a $26 SnG????
WAKE UP ! (sorry I´m being mean...really, but you need it)
The winner gets $120! 4-tabling these means $480 in 1 hour. 8-tabling... $960 !
Get it?
There are A LOT of regulars making a very good living at these tables, you will not beat them now. Need I say more?
Build up..learn... grow in the limits...it takes time...
Edit:
I was talking about 1-table Sng´s. 45/90 man SnG´s are even worse (a lot more money)...so there you go...

Island, your exactly right and I'm not taking your reply in any other way then, good constructive criticism. I need to hear that! I guess, since I was moving right along in the micro SnG's (where I need to stay for a while) I thought I'd try something bigger. Played one, then two and so on llosing all. Glad you replied and being straight up. I learned a big lesson and it won't happen twice. Again thanks and good luck in all, to all.

Sorry I was a bit rough, but there is such a huge difference in these games.
Never played one myself (I´m too chicken-s**t with my bankroll ), but I see the difference in $11 SnG´s already, and $$26 is a whole different story altogether. That´s REAL money if you can multi-table them.

Yeah! I jumped from the $1+.10 right in the $24+2 in a day. Didn't even work my way up. Learned a lesson. Best I finished out of 4 tries was 18th if that tells you anything. Dumb move on my behalf and a waste of my BR. Like I said, learned a big lesson and more then just one from that move. Well, gotta work in the morning so going to bed. Lots of respect to your feedback and Good Luck!

Just remember losing 4 SNGs in a row at ANY level is no biggie.. the main thing here is BRM - If losing 4* $24+$2 sngs in a row seriously hurts your bankroll- then you're not rolled for this level..
IMHO - $20-$30 SNGs aren't exactly shark tanks - whilst the games are certainly a bit more complex than a $1 SNG - they aren't exactly what poker pros play either..The main thing is at this level you really need a pretty high amount of buyins.. You can probably survive on 10 buyins for $1 sngs - simply because A) You beat enough of them that you shouldn't lose 10 BI in a row B) If you do go bust - no biggie - it's only $10
However with $24 games - you can expect the variance to be a lot higher ! And if you are beating them your ROI is probably only going to be single figures - which means a downswing can be pretty harmful.. When you're playing games with BI > $20 it's advisable to have at LEAST 50 BI to handle the swings.. Once you move >$50 then 100 BI is really advisable - since busting your roll has serious economic impact and may not be easily replaceable.
