Placed 3rd in $1+.10 SnG and was wondering how much more difficult do the games get above the micros? Is the skill level basically the same in the $5 and $10 SnG's? I know when I attempted to play some $24 SnG's I lost about 70% of my BR. Appreciate any advice / input!

Thanks for sharing your experience with us. I don't saw if you saw my other posts but i'm not a SNG player, i only play on cash tables. If you ask me 3rd place out of 45 players registered is a pretty good result. Before starting to play online poker i've read many strategy articles, including SNG. There was something about the SNG buy-in, it's best(if your bankroll allows it of course) to play on 5+ $ SNG's. It said that on higher limits players stick a lot more on the SNG strategy and are easier to read than on 1$ SNG where many are tempted to pay you with a weak hand because the stake isn't too high. SO my advice would be to try some 5$ SNG's(if your bankroll allows it of course). Keep us posted and good luck at the tables!

There's definitely a noticeable difference in style as you move up the stakes. Especially, there's a pretty big gap in the quality of play from $1 SNGs to $10 SNGs.. Following good bankroll management - players @ the $10 stakes should have a bankroll of around ~$500 vs players @ $1 stakes having a bankroll anything from $1 to about $100. There is definitely a difference in style.

Jess, what would be the main differences between the 1 dollar SNG and 10 dollar SNG? At beginning i also started to play 1 dollar SNGs but then i realized my fav game and most profitable for me are the cash games tables. What i noticed is that at this limit(1$) palyers tend to be really loose and many will pay with a really weak hand, and this even from beggining of the game. In more than one situations i remember some players go all in with cards like A7o or so. One 10+ dolalrs SNGs players play more tight and follow closely the SNG strategy? Good luck at the tables!

Thanks for the feedback Macubaas and jessthe human! You are exactly right to jess about the BR status for the lower $ SnG's. Maybe I'll just stick to these for another month or two before escalating to the $5 and $10. Like I said before, I tried to play some $24 SnG's one day and got the dog poop kicked out of me and basically played conservitive.
Also, Macubaas, what kind of cash table games do you play? Maybe it's something I could check in to. I believe shoveandtilt referenced the SnG's to me about a month ago and so I tried them out and have fared relitively decent on them. Interested in trying other types of games and prefer referenced info from someone experienced in the field. I have only been playing for 5/6 months.
