Novel story is about town in which I live right now. And writer got Nobel prize for that novel. Bridge is real and I cross it almost every day Under UNESCO protection.
Just curios does anybody herd about it...

I have read it, the first time a few years ago, and, since I liked it, I took it with me in paperback when I went to Finland last year. A really good and interesting book. I'd like to go there some day.

I thought the austrians (or someone) blew the bridge away during WWI? (I have a really bad memory, but I think it says so in the book.)

I just might take you up on that some day, sir!
Me and the wife are talking about this years holiday at the moment, and the suggestions are: Crete, Cuba or some place along the coast of former Yugoslavia. She has been talking about Dubrovnik. It's not at the bridge, but we are getting closer...

That's really artistic and unique jovica! You say you cross this several times? It's a very nice view and look's like you live in a very picturistic area. Can't believe how nice the area looks! Very escentric. I will look for this book so I can learn about this! good Luck to All!
