When i made my moneybookers account probably due to my ip address, the currency of my moneybooers account was default set to tne national currency of my country. At that time i actually didn't knew that i wasn't able to select another currency of my account after i made it. The withdraw part is really okay since i only pay a fix 1.8 euro tax on every withdrawal to my moneybookers account to my personal bank account. The bad part is that moneybookers take a 1.99% fee on all transactions that require a currency exchange. So since all my poker accounts are in dollars when i withdraw on my moneybookers account they take the 2% currency exchange fee. So my question for my fellow mobsters is if there is any way to change the currency of my moneybookers account? Did anyone succesufully changed the currency of his moneybookers account?
PS. I already contacted support and asked but most probably they'll reply tomorrow.

Afaik you can only change it if you're moneybookers VIP,then you can have 2 accounts with 2 different currencies (or 1 account with 2 different currencies, not sure). However,I'd just suggest you to wait what the support replies

My moneybookers is also in a different currency to poker sites but i figure that since I want to be able to withdraw money from my account using my mb card i'm going to have to pay a charge somewhere along the line.
some poker sites do have the option to change your currency though. Obviously the tables take dollars but when you buy in to the table they transfer at the current rate and change back at the same rate when you cash out of the table. So I don't think you lose any money this way. Only thing is, is that the percentage of your bankroll you play with changes slightly depending on the conversion rate.
But I'm not sure which is the best method. There's always going to be some exchange policy when everyone is playing with virtual money and everyone has a different currency. Bring on the day when the world has one currency.

Try to contact the Support Staff of Moneybookers and explain to them your problem, they will be happy to assist and sort out this currency problem of yours.

Major props for the moneybookers support team, it's a lot better than the one you find on another e wallet support teams. I got an answer from they in couple of hours after i sent my original message and question. They said that after i made my first transactions i can't change the currency anymore but i can open a new account with the currency i want and they'll close the account that i currently have. However this is a one time deal, i can't do this after i change the currency of my account. I was more than happy to hear about that. I only have dollars on poker platforms, so if i have the moneybookers account also on dollars i can buy things in dollars with out paying the 1,99% currency conversion fee. When i'll be withdrawing money to my personal bank account i'll still need to pay the currency conversion fee though. As stated above you are right, if you become a VIP moneybookers member you can have two currencies on the same account, but in order to become one you need to deposit at least 5000 dollars on your moneybookers account.

As for Moneybookers - I considered to withdraw a few hundreds $$$ from FTP to my MB account, but I've been noticed that this option is unavailable at the moment...
I'm not sure what's going on... Did you try to withdraw your funds from FTP into Moneybookers account recently...?

No idea about FTP,but AP/UB suspended it too,so chances are fulltilt did as well... Maybe just try to find someone on 2+2 in the trading thread, just make sure you trade with trustworthy people only, then you should get it done with no problems.

Hi daraspol, i actually emailed full tilt poker support about this and they said this is only temporarly and the moneybookers withdrawals will become very shortly available again. In their email they also said that they'll release an official statement and email all members when moneybookers withdrawals will be available again. On the other hand the neteller withdrawals are still available but they work a lot slower than before. If before the black friday your money were on your e-wallet account in a matter of days, now on netteler you got the money on a week or even more than that. It's a really frustrating situation considering that many people live of out of poker and need to make monthly withdrawals. Since i don't live out of poker i took advantage of this situation to boost my bankroll. Good luck!

Oh yes, by the way, set up the new account, and transferred the money to my new USD account where the money i had in the old account were automatically transformed in USD. After that they closed the old account and i got myself a brand new USD account. And i definately agree with you MIGO14, moneybookers is by far for me the best e-wallet out there. The withdraw rates and fees are a lot smaller than on Neteller for example, plus it's great to also have the moneybookers mastercard. Back in the good days the withdraw confirmation from full tilt poker came in acout 30 minutes or max an hour, and then basically i could go to the first ATM and withdraw them, that was almost instant acces to the money in your poker account on multiple poker platforms. From what i've read on other poker forumjs it's a matter of weeks or max couple of months till the withdrawals on moneybookers will be available again on full tilt poker, which is really great news for me. Good luck to all!
