Among some other major updates to be rolled out in the next 24hrs (including, finally, auto-reload) - PKR is launching a 2D client software !!!
In a bid to eventually move into the US market when it opens up, which they are already positioning themselves to do, they also want to reach the existing players who are unable to run the 3D software, or download the client (due to bandwidth issues). It also leaves them more options if they wish to become part of an existing poker network, as these networks would not consider the move if PKR was only 3D.

Yes it will be shared, they aren't going to split their 3D/2D traffic (confirmed btw). SO in that regard, the hand speed will not change. Although, actual hands per /hour is NOT as slow as some people would think, while it does lag behind most 2D software, it is not by as much as most people perceive. I think the whole feel of it gives a slower impression than what is actually happening.

I think HpH will go up, some of the people who slow down the game there are those who struggle to run the software making the game slower, if they switch to 2d then hopefully all goes faster. Thats never been the issue there for me though, its the rake at cash games. But as said the speed is not that bad..

You might be right about HpH going up..
Rake is the same ? 5%, capped at $3 (total for pot) most rake anyone can pay per hand is $1.50
I think is 10% on the absolute micros - but lots of sites do that...

Taking in consideration the big bet they have done in all the software of programing to become the principal 3D room, this news looks like a step back from the company. In one side, we can see they are trying to get to the people, becoming available to everyone. But, on the other side, the reason why they are known will just disapear. Its an all new image. This calls for a great publicity and marketing campaign in order for existant users to continue playing there.

Hmm, some interesting news on this room. I guess they try to get more traffic and new clients with that, not too bad strategy I think. Offering both software to people can improve their traffic for sure. And still they are the only 3D room.

Oh thats great, know i'm in their customer range too, my current pc and laptop are too weak to run that 3d poker application, although this will change pretty soon, but till then it's nice o know i can make an account there too
And yes, what was posted above it's true considering from what friends that play there have told me, there isn't too much action, but it seems it's a pretty profitable poker platform, so i think it's worth a try, especially since you can get a really good rakeback offer via bankrollmob
It seems 3d poker it's not such a big attraction, since you can't really play multi table, and it's hard for the eyes to keep up, so 2d is a must for online poker

2D is definatly a must. i wanna play poker and not a onlineshooter ! played there with the no deposit bonus a year ago. i was so bored and annoyed by its 3D view..couldnt even recognize were im sitting at as i tried to change the perspective. might try it out again in 2D as i heard theres alot bad players. i already checked their site, has been down now its online again...but yet it says nothing about 2D.

Posted by B1gfoot: I always thought it was 10% regardless, well it was last time I checked. I play NL100 mainly SH...ohh pay 5%
Not sure when you played, I been there 2 years, nl25+ been 5% whole time I been there, must have been a while ago it was 10%
Only the micros like 2c/4c charge @ 10% - But I think even on other sites it is like this.
Yep your right, had a look, dont know why or how I ended up thinking it was 10% at all cash games...Thats keept me away from there for some time...might DL at the weekend and have some fun..whats the min rake paid p/m for RB?

by doing this they definitely gonna get more players because all players with slow computers might wanna try their software and maybe their 2d software will allow for better multutabling.

If they do the 2d version i may give it a go.I belong to those who cant play with this software. downloaded and installed once, i got to see a couple of features and uninstalled in less than 30 mins cause of lag (pc lag not connection)

I agree it's a good idea, I prefer cleaner, simpler software. I'm trying to keep focused on the game after all, not the flashy graphics. How much bigger is their 3d client though? Are there really lots of people out there running 56k modems that are dying to play? 56K is the worst, it's like having teeth pulled. You may be right though, it only takes one slow poke a the table to lag it for everyone.
