OMFG Indeed. I was thinking, man that's awesome when I read the hint box outside the thread and then I read the rest. That sucks dude, so so so much. Nothing is worse than loosing money to some lame technical issue beyond your control. Especially such an amazing opportunity. I definitely would've tilted.

Posted by IslandJack: Was going to throw in my 2 cents worth, but it looks like you already got about 8 bucks worth.
Let us know what you did in the end, and if it's running stable.
lol haven't done anything yet... Well, actually - I did download a hardware test that runs off a cd, which you boot from.. I did that and ran it for around 8hrs but didn't get anything..
But most likely I'm just going to do nothing much, until it happens again.. then I'll probably make another angry post.. Personally, I don't think there is a whole lot to do other than an upgrade.. Or maybe I'm just telling myself that as an excuse to buy computer parts.. already have four computers in the house lol, 2 laptops and 2 PCs.

Posted by jessthehuman: Was just 9-tabling nl50, I flopped a set on 5 tables at the same time, was getting lots of action too and my foooking computer crashed (completely, blue screen and restart). I had no disconnection protection either
Have to take a break now, else I will be tilting hard..
I think I need a new CPU, when I set my computer up I think I accidentally put to much thermal grease on the CPU/Heatsink and I think maybe it is overheating. I am not sure exactly, something is up anyway, it crashes a bit. So frustrating.
------------ update: 10minutes later, I'm still angry.
Goddamnit! Mighty brutal, man!
I still from time to time whine (quitely for myself), about the time I got 77 on PKR, the computer froze with the cards lifted up (as you can do on PKR) and two 7:s on the flop. I had to stare at that for minutes, and it sort of burned into my eyes.
But your breakdown was of corse even worse. My symphaties.

oooh... thats harsh
Thanks. It wasn't really about the money, it was that feeling: "Maybe it will start moving again.... Maybe it is not too late..."
It didn't. It was.
Psyhologically it was very trying, financially, not that bad. NL 25 or maybe even 10. Your's was worse. But maybe you would have been drawn out on, by some bizarre gutshot or whatnot...

Hah - yeah, with yours its just harsh cause it's the stone cold nuts.
Yeah, I may have been drawn out lol, I don't think I'd boated up on any of the tables.. Later on that night I play some guy 4 tables of HU nl100 he was such an aggro-donk, I cleaned him up for 8 BI ($800), so all in all, the day wasn't so bad lol.
This is true; the problem is though if I were going to buy a new CPU then I'd get a later model, which used a different mobo socket and of course would then need fancier RAM to match.. Haha, so IMO it's always a 3-way combo; board, cpu & RAM.
I might later pull every thing out of the case, clean it all, clean the fans, etc, see if that helps.
Well if you wanna stick to AMD and you have an AM2 board, you CAN get away with upgrading to an AM3 processor and keeping your old board/ram. But since you're an MTT beast, might as well cough up the extra hundo or so and go all out lol.
Yeah - you're right on it being backwards compatible and spot on regarding currently having AM2, I just don't see the point of having a new CPU if I am bottlenecking it with older RAM/Board. Seems like a wasted investment.. I think it's worth it to spend a bit more and actually get the most out of a new CPU...
Kinda of late but what is your power supply wattage?
I might be able to help you out
when you get the BSOD (blue screen...) what is the message you get?

Either way CPUs are not that expensive
