hi all im just wondering what kind of notes do you keep on other players,do you write what hands they play, how much they bet,f'king donk, hand range,patterns...etc???? i keep them simple with a traffic light system, green=donkeydonks, amber=average, red=shark,it doesn't tell me what they play but it saves time seeing the colour next to them....i think i need a new system though and im looking for any ideas that might help....thanks all and good luck on the felts.....

Most of the times (if there is a show down) i take a note for the preflop bet and the way he played it after flop, plus cards that usually raises with preflop. I take notes too the way they play their nuts. Some players for example checking always the nuts waiting for a bet and then raising big or go all in. And they do it every single time
The only two notes I take while playing online poker especially for sitngos and cash games are 'very tight player' and 'very lose player'... it's enough for me to know how to play when we'll be involved in a hand... or how to play it preflop etc...
I try to write useless notes, classify the players by how they play. Usually I write something like that: "Nit", "Donk", "Tight selective player", "Mixes it up" "Aggro donk" etc.
But to me the most important thing is to be able to spot too loose or too tight players and play against them...

my notes are usually useless. I always write them when I am drunk and I tend to only write them after I get annoyed at something, so most of my notes just have completely useless information like

I do a bit of both, I don't note as much as I used to, and mainly just use them for that session alone, but whenever a strange hand is played it gets noted, I use the traffic light all the time, mainly so I know if its worth sitting down or not, if so am I getting the right seat.

I know players that use to make alot more detaild player notes about their opponents but those are players that like to play without a hud poker software...
There is really no need to make these notes if you have a hud and you know to interpret the stats offered by it...
Plus you have a lot more options with a poker software compared to simple player notes...
