Just released like September 6th, I, like a LOT of other people have been eagerly awaiting this game through delay after delay. They put a teaser out something like 5 years ago, and finally released it.
Only played a couple hours so far, but this is probably hands down THE best zombie game ever. If you're a zombie fan at all, definately go buy it.

Still going to play a while, but I want a GUN ! Kinda fed up "paddling" these things and stuff. Hope we get some firepower soon....
Yeah, I must admit, the no gun thing is a little offputting at first, but I think that's what creates the atmosphere of the game. Traditional run n gun zombie games, the concept is simply "run in, shot their fucking faces off and then move on". In Dead island, you're afraid to stay still, and you're more afraid to move. It very much conveys a helpless feeling, knowing if you get jumped by 5-6 zombies, you actually have to fight. There's a whole different level of strategy involved.
It does, however, get VERY repetetive beating zombies to death with a hammer, over and over and over lol.
