Lamb was eliminated quickly, trusting too much on KJ. I usually play this hand hard too, but going all in pre-flop in a situation like this… I don’t know, it was too risky. Now Pius will try to secure his advantage, but that’s also difficult. Everyone would bet Pius to win because of the difference in chips, but only time will say who’s going to be crowned!

whenever a big pro loses with KJ first thing that comes in my mind is tony G trash talk incident, 'never overplay king jack". no wonder he was disappointed anyway well done lamb for making this far and got a gud third prize for that

lol,he didnt play the hand to get to a showdown. he obv. wanted to use his fold equity to win the deadmoney. I'm not saying it was the right play with KJ here,I wouldve done a play like this with 98s or whatever but not KJ because it plays so bad vs. opponents' calling range,but to say he "overplayed it" or "put too much trust in it" is kinda stupid,it's level of thinking most people dont understand

first of all i never said he overplayed king jack, i just said this reminds me of tony g incident.
as for his hand not wanting to get a showdown- he knew there was a good chance his allin would be called. let me quote lamb himself- "I think there was a decent chance he was coming out swinging, but I wouldn't have done it with king-five. I had king-jack, and I though that if he folds I am setting myself up to a really good spot, and if he calls, at least I will have some equity most of the times,"
it wud be gud to read and understand other people's post first before commenting on them, but maybe it's the level of thinking most people dont understand

and lol @ taking the quote like he wanted to get to showdown. He calculated his equitys vs. the calling range of his opponent + the % of the times his opponent folds (or at least thats what he is supposed to do). If Staszko went all in on him,there is no chance lamb would have ever went for a showdown with this hand. Notice how he said "if he calls",that already shows he didnt want the call (rightfully,cause he is dominated vs. the calling range). It's pretty much MTT strategy that involves fold equity as a factor to get involved in marginal situations,I dont even see why there should be even any questioning in the play nor don't I understand what could be misunderstood at all there,it should be basic knowledge really (obv. they do it in a more advanced way,but pretty much everyone should be aware of what lamb was up to with this play IMO,so I dont see why there is any debating about his move)

let me put it again for you -
but what i'm saying- it's better to try and understand what someone is saying before calling them stupid, level of understanding stuff etc etc. i never said lamb overplayed KJ, but i said that it reminds me of tony g incident where he says to his opponent "never overplay KJ"
