Like I said, Steve Vai is a very creative player. That album that followed "Passion and Warfare" was so bad, I stopped listening to him. Good to hear he's still got it...

B1gfoot: that is really guitarplay at it's best! But I prefer accoustic for some reason. You should check out Igor Pres...something on youtube, just type Igor in the search and he should be your first hit. Also Sungha Jung is worth checking out! Tharmt kid is for guitarplay what stephen hawking is for the world of fysics. Is there ANYTHING that the asians can't do!?

Im sure this video’s (Steve Vai etc) from Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival 2004 (The first Crossroads concert was held at the Cotton Bowl stadium in Dallas, Texas, from June 4, 2004, to June 6, 2004), I seen the 2 DVD few years ago, there been few more since then(but haven’t seen these yet), well worth looking at, Fing awesome music http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crossroads_Guitar_Festival

First time i seen The Trons robot band playing was walking through center city (2008, Hamilton city New Zealand) and I heard this band playing in distance, I thought id have a look at band, but couldn’t see any one playing. I had too look twice ( i had been drinking/smoking lol) as here's these pieces of junk playing music, not any bits of junk - playing robot band wow
“The Trons are a garage rock band from Hamilton, New Zealand. The band has no human members, all instruments being played by robots built from junk and salvaged electronics. All songs are original, and the band tours and gigs like a normal human band, except for needing to be carried everywhere!
The instruments are standard human ones, with robot limbs and fingers attached. The heart of the band is a 15 year old computer from a decommissioned vending machine, which has been reprogrammed to feed the song info to the machines. This control system keeps it all synced up but the junky nature of the robots means there is a mechanical randomness to the playing as well.
Their first gig was at an unsuspecting garden party in the summer of 2008, and since then the Trons done over 80 shows, including two trips to Europe playing music festivals in Prague, galleries in Vienna, and seedy alley hangouts in Berlin. Cameras on the instruments view the mechanisms and are automatically mixed by the control system, then projected as a giant image over the band. At the core of the band is the development of rock music made by machines.
As of November 2010 the Trons have just released their first album. It is double disk CD + DVD with 10 tracks and 8 additional music videos. Most videos have been made by Hamilton underground film nut Snakebeings, shot in various dungy machine hangouts in the bands swampy hometown.
