NHL action today as the Winnipeg Jets host the New York Islanders for this last game of 2014.
Winnipeg Jets are coming from two games against the Minnesota WIld where they lost 3 - 2 at home, and won 4 - 3 in overtime at Minnesota.
The New York Islanders are coming from a tough game against the Capitals where they grabbed the OT winner, after they had the game in the bag leading 3 - 0 5 minutes in to the third periode, and then conceded 3 fast goals before the final whistle.
New York has been struggling a little against The Jets in Winnipeg, and last 3 of their 5 games there has ended with overtime or penaltys. And in those 5 games, the Islanders won 4 of them, 3 after ordinary time.

NHL game The Vancouver Canucks at home vs The Los Angeles Kings .
The kings road play has now sunk to a new low after I assumed even though they have been poor on the road this year that they would take care of lowly Edmonton in their last game however I was wrong to assume as they lost in a shootout . Next up is Vancouver who is in good form winning 3 of their last 4 . Jonathon quicks form has mirrored the sides form being good at home but average away from home . For me the form of Vancouver and lack of form away for the kings means its Vancouver in this game .

Buffalo Sabres lately have been playing very poorly in defense. Team has injury problems in the defensive line and is giving away goals a lot. Sabres have allowed the opponents to score at least 3 goals in each of the last 10 games. Their goaltender Enroth also definitely could be playing better. He has given away some very easy goals. Sabres at the same time also lately can score very good. Florida Panthers are just maybe slightly better in defense than the hosts. The last meeting between the sides just a couple weeks ago ended with a 3:3 draw in regular time. Teams were playing open hockey, so I expect at least 6 goals scored also today.
