For a limited time, we will pay 10 points for each vote you cast in polls. You will find the polls in the "Polls"-subforum or the recent polls from within your Mob account-page, below the News-section.
Please note, we monitor this new feature very closely, so if it turns out that: 1) There's a huge increase in new (unserious) polls created, or 2) There's alot of votes being cast randomly in all the polls
... we will either remove the new points feature completely or lower it.
But let's hope it will work out in the best possible way - and if it does, then we will keep it with the 10 points per vote

Do you get asked to make polls such as mcCain vs Obama? Sounds good to me, is it still max 5 paid per day inclusive of posts? But I can see it being abused, how about deduction of points for abuse.

No, we don't get asked to make any polls I was just curious about the president, which is why I created it in offtopic.
There's no limit as to how many times you can get paid, but there's a natural limit to it, as there's not an unlimited amount of polls to vote in. That's why I write about the abuse, if it's being abused then we will have to take actions. We don't mind rewarding people for "giving their opinion" just like with posts etc, but it does more harm than good if it's being abused.

Hehe, good one Unfortunately we can't go around closing polls that are no longer "important", but I'll think about this tonight if we should make it so that only polls less than XX days will pay points.

I see, very kind offer then, lets hope it does not get abused. I only wounderd cus i seen a topic about poker players having a better read on people such as polatitions and "they" were after poker players views on them so they could ajust to the public (1 reason y i dont like politics, all just actors voted in by looks and have ways to manipulate public opnion)

10 points is very generous I was searching for some polls I haven't voted in yet. If it was me setting the poll thing up than I would only give 2-3 points, maybe 5 max and than only people with 50+ posts can make a poll, and have to make poll within 1 hour of post and maybe poll maximum per week.

And in general, you will not be paid for polls older than XX days (maybe 30, maybe less), just so everybody doesn't go through the entire list of polls to get points.

Put some limits because i fear it will get abused at one point in the future. I think that most of the limits should be applied at creating polls. Maybe adding poll rating feature so that older members can help prevent poll abusing. Lets say 5 older (defined by post number not smaller than 100 or even 200 posts) members rate that poll as bad/abusing and poll gets locked so noone can cast a vote in it. Maybe even smaller number of "bad poll" votes like 1 or 2 and then Admin can check this poll out and unlock it if everything is in order. I would go for smaller number because there are always at least one of those members around at any time, and this would make a lot easier to subtract points from abusers because there would be less votes made.

Predobar, your suggestions are good - I will keep that in mind as we see how it goes.
------------ For now, this has been added or will be added shortly when the next forum update occurs:
* Voting in polls will only pay out points if the poll is NOT older than "xx" days (this is a hidden value, and will be adjusted from time to time if necessary)
* Creating a poll is only possible if the user has 20 posts or more, and * Thread must not be older than 24 hours
We'll see how that works out

That would be good idea, at least I would spend more time on playing some fun games not only poker,poker,poker... LOL
