The motorcycle thread - discussion, stories and pictures!  0
I saw mentioned in another thread about a motorcycle accident and I figured we're probably a few "riders" in here Smile

So let's have a motorcycle thread and discuss some bikes, tell your accident stories and post pictures of your bike(s). Worship

doomdy, that's a shame Sad Unfortunately accidents happen much more often to bikers than car drivers.

I'm about to sell my bike because I never use it anymore, but I'm gonna miss it for sure. Now is just a bad time to sell (season, economy etc etc).

I drove motocross for 4-5 years on a yamaha from I was 11 untill I turned 16. The bike was a Yamaha YZ80 6speed 26HP. After a couple of years I bought a swedish tune kit which brought it up to 34HP for only 64KG(under 2KG/HP) for 13year old kid. I loved it and spend every dime I could get my hands on, on that bike. My father supported me alot by allways driving me around so I could practice on different tracks and for races. For some time I also used it to drive around to my friends untill the neighbours complained to the police then the local bike police officer came after me thought he could catch me on his heavy BMW LOL see ya across 1 field and he was gone Big Smile sadly he knew who I was due to my neighbour so when I got home my mom had talked to the police Agree suckers that ended my early getaways and I was forced to get back on the bike with pedals Tongue Hehe but only for a couple of years then came the scooter age and the getaways started again Big Smile Spend over 10K$ tuning my scooter but it never got fast enough Sleepy Now I havent been on 2 wheels for some years and I really miss it so im thinking of selling my waverunner and buy a bike but I got so many expensive projects/ideas that nothing is certain other than I miss 2 wheels.
Man I allmost got off track(topic) only 1 real crash in my book where nothing really serious happend, I was on the track end of 4th gear guess 70-80KM/H when I took a jump with to litlle throtlle before the jump and in the air so I landed on the front wheel and could ofcourse not take the presure in my arms so front wheel turned, bike stopped and I was flying several meters untill I hit ground sliding very long. Lucky for me I had proper equipment on so I only got a broken thumb, dislocated wrist and some pressedribs. Actually taken more damage when crashing on my scooter but that was because I was driving drunk and without any equipment hehe teenagers Tongue

So there you have it apart of my life and my thoughts when someone mention bikes Smile

With Malta plates Smile I'll have to wait right now im in project supercharge the BMW 325i and with my income being the only in this house(girlie studying to become a nurse) im spending the money faster than I can collect them + girlie just crahed my old merc Shock But I googled it and it looks sweet please type age and mileage perhaps I'll keep it in mind Smile

No, it's actually in Denmark with my family (which is why I'm not using it anymore Big Smile ) ... there's currently no registration fee ("afgift" Blink on it though. It's a 1994 as I recall, 18.000 km on it.

Supercharging BMW's - that sounds like an interesting new thread Smile

Ok interesting got an exspected price range?

Yes it's going to be great with some more power went from Supra 3,0 turbo down to standard BMW 325i so I seriously need power and low end torque which it's getting now trying out with smallest pulley(you can adjust boost with pulley size) to start with this should give around 300hp/300nm compared to the standard 192hp it's a decent power increase Big Smile so steel gasket will be needed and soon new rear tires guess Tongue

I'm hoping for DKK 25k but it's probably more like 22k or something, I'm not sure yet.

How could you sell a Supra?!?! I miss mine, had a 2.8 Turbo '84 back in '02-03 Smile

   0
Haha you had Supra too Big Smile
I had it for 2 years and found it pretty expensive to maintain and I also wanted to try something else but most important I was offered 2K$ more than I bought it for which I couldn't refuse was expecting a 5K$ loss on it so.... Big Smile

Wonder how much they want in reg. fee for your bastard?

   0
Reg. fees for the bike is probably the same, or a little more, than the DKK 22k.

Yeah I really liked the Supra... 6 cyl. started 1st time, everytime, and the sound... Big Smile Too bad it was old and rusty, too expensive to repair. So used the money to put a turbo on it and had extra fun while it was still legal to drive, when no longer legal I put it away for a few years *in case* I got around to fixing it, but I didn't ,so sold it for 1/4 of what I paid for it.. oh well, old car and very cheap.

I had a honda CR 500 RD when i was kid, it was the last of the air cooled monsters, 5 speed, 2 stroke moto x bike, couldnt kick start it due to extreme compresion, luckily i live near a big hill and i would have to get a mate to jump on the back with me and jump start her in 5th gear, it was a beast. Shock Shock

Yeah they sound amazing and drive accordingly I drove to Venice from Copenhagen in 13,5 hour with girlie(saturday night time no traffic and trucks are not allowed sunday) ....she thought we were in some kind of race, but just me testing Supra Big Smile never under 200KM/H in 13,5H topspeed on speedo 278KM/H I had to let it idle when fueling because turbo was glowing red so couldn't turn it off. My fathers friend drove from CPH to Monaco in 12H on the biggest Ninja damn....couldn't beat that.
Mine was a 1 owner from "whisky bæltet"(rich area in Denmark) a car collector who had several cars in this range, Supra being the "cheap" one. It had only driven 90KKM when I bought it so it was like a new Supra with full service book at Toyota. I made him an offer which he refused cause it was ridiculous low(like 2/3 of the price he wanted) but he contacted me 1,5 month later asking if I still was interested and I sure was Smile

@intentcity4

It's probably a totally different bike but I remember when I was a small kid my father loved the old classic CB500 think it was one the first with discbrake and liquid cooling he had 3 of them Aww crap!
He later got more reasonable buying Honda VF1000 and then really reasonable when buying a brand new Suzuki GSX-R 1100 remember when sitting on the back and he punished it, it felt like my head was going to be ripped off and every time he clutched I banged my head into his back saying to my self next time you wont do it but it was impossible not to....man that bike was quick I think it's 15 years ago or something like that and still havent tried anything faster. If I remember correctly it was stated to go 0-100 in 2,9 sec Shock Never mind Tivoli dad just take me for a ride on that MONSTER of yours I loved it Smile

Btw. my friends father was a millionare stock guy who had a brand new Porsche 928 fastest road car back then think it was 5,0 V8 my dad and I raced it on GSX-R and they were standing still next to us. That closed my friends mouth....I was getting pretty tired of hearing about that Porsche in school Big Smile

the CBs were road bikes, the CR is a dedicated motor cross bike like the KX,YZ,RM and so on, not as much horse power as the road bikes but you wouldnt know it going over rough ground, the bike i had was designed to do around 140kmh but its how you got there that was scary, super quick over the first 200 or so meters heaps of fun, it all depends on the sprocket sizes as to speed vs power, the front tyer didnt get much wear as you could imagine due to being off the ground most of the time, good idea to have life insurance riding one of those big boys. Shock

I googled a bit on your bike because it was something in that class/range I was going to look for. How is the condition on the bike anything need to be fixed or anything fixed recently? Standard or custom parts?

Pics please Smile

As I recall, the chainset was replaced this summer (or just before) and it's been used for probably less than 1000 km after that. Tires etc. okay. Not really anything needed to be fixed on it, an oil change is coming up but that's an annual job anyway Smile

I'm definately going for a 600cc for my next bike also, the size, weight and horsepowers on those are perfect for me - I don't need 140 hp to get myself killed, 100 is enough Smile

Pics attached.

Haha it's going to be my first road bike so 100HP should do it. I was hoping for the aerodynamic headlights and not the round ones. Thumbs Up and you got the cap for the back seat+

How is the condition would you say average or above average?

You know how many owners?

It looks decent and im actually getting more interested Smile but I have some toys and a couple(know it sounds crazy) of cars that I need to sell before I go any further.

As you know, it's currently not registered which is why it's cheap .. so buying it unregistered will kinda work like motivation to sell the other stuff to find money for registration fee Big Smile

I think I would say condition average, maybe a bit above. The mileage is low and mechnical there shouldn't be any issues, none that I know of and none that 2 mechanics have told me about (including when it was at the shop to be prepared for certification earlier this year). But, it's 14 years old so of course there's some paint/plastic issues a few places, nothing important though and nothing you would normally notice.

The cap for the back seat is on, yes.

I'm the 3rd owner as far as I know, and according to the fahrzeugbrief. The german guy I got it from, had it since 1998 I think. He had some sport accidents so he couldn't ride for long periods at times, which is probably why it still has such low mileage. He purchased some suzuki 1200 something which is why he put the FZR up for sale.

Took 24 hours non-stop driving from DK down to pick it up and back again Smile After 10 hours or so driving all night, I was scared to h*ll getting up on it for a test ride, I've been riding a small 500cc for the past few years prior to that, so the FZR looked really really big and scary to me Big Smile (and it didn't help when I saw the roads we had to take it out on, small, curvy and lots small stones and dirt up in the german hills!) But it was great!!! OK I got a bit carried away there Big Smile
