I heard they have snow in Portland at the moment and apparently that's not something that happens often, so I found this video at youtube ... its from last year though, but wow, that looks very slippery!!

*heads up!*

Have you any of you guys (or girls) ever been into something similar?

I don`t know how is this possible, people are walking normally along the road so ice is not that slippery, i`m guessing its automated gearboxes and people who don`t have a clue how to drive on uncleared snow covered roads. That last one started to accelerate when he was passing by parked car just across the camera and had hard time finding out that Colin McRae rally game is just that, the game. LOL funny.

addition: I looked at the first corner, on the left of the camera and it seems to be some hill, bushes are not all of the same height, so road elevation might influence this behavior.

Predo,
Yes there does some to be some elevation, specially the road going vertical in the video, the one the 4x4 (first one) is sliding backwards on until it finally stops into 3-4 cars.

People are def. clueless when it comes to driving in slippery weather but nothing to do here when the car can't even grip when turned sideways doesn't matter how good you are or you got 4x4. Check out the guy getting noia at 1:38 turns into another crashed car in purpose using it as brakes Big Smile
Btw. I enjoy seeing the BMW no probs nice and easy only car not crashing, car or driver....probably both Smile Just kidding probably the one who could afford a proper set of winter tires, perhaps spikes Agree

ROFL starwars kid what a psycho....how the F did the sliding cars remind you of him Confused

I like the red car at 0:42 ... he manages to get it to a full stop, but for some reason decides to try again or something and then ends up hitting the other car!!

I don't think it would make it easy to "drift" or do 180's with tnose installed Smile

Yes ofcourse I allways do Smile, learned by old pops that when they say in TV news/radio that it's adviced to stay of the roads due to dangerous slippery roads ~ it meens time to play you got road all to your self Smile I only drive rear wheel or 4x4 driven cars. Front wheel driven cars should be illegal by law imo and french cars should be declined at their own border keep your own baguettes we don't want those tin can killer machines driving around or exploding in peoples garage(C series). Love baguettes just not with wheels Tongue
Sadly the danish government spend tons of money destroying my slippery surface, road, groundwater and my dogs feet. Try gravel fools, but they rather destroy everything with their stupid never ending salt salt salt so stupid it's ment to put on the food where you can't get enough of it Big Smile

So true, M3....kinda, at least Smile Just have to find a good wide open spot to play around on... don't wanna end up in the ditch somewhere because it slips a bit more on the road than planned Big Smile

Let's just hope there's going to be some snow during the christmas vacation Smile

Yeah could be fun Smile do you also got a car in germany or planning on punishing the parrents car Tongue
My dad got a Jeep Grand Cherokee (V8 Smile ) 0-160 side by side with 325i std, pretty quick for a 2ton car imo, think Cw catches him at 160. Love driving that car when snowy though it sometimes allmost grips to well, hate fueling it though Tongue
Ditch is your friend, makes sure you don't F up Big Smile

I have a RWD parked away at my grandparents that I work on when on vacation and such (which is very rare though, but fingers are just too itchy when it comes to tinkering, a car to work on is a must Big Smile ). So gonna take that one out for a spin Smile
