Tom will take on four players head-to-head, $500,000 a game. Each match will see 500 hands played with blinds at $500-$1,000, and no one can walk away until the hands are over or they go bust. Dwan’s opponents will have the choice of playing pot-limit Omaha or no-limit hold’em. But this tile live Well hate to say it but GL durrrr

I think this is some stunt to be honest (tv) Apparently its 500 straight?? but then again he doesnt go past 10 hands without having half his stack in the pot lol. This should be a lot more intresting than the outher challange and not sure how his opponints are choosen. Can see a few "no-names" wanting to take a stab.

In this level, durrr and others should think in things like marketing, merchandise, publicity and stuff like that. An event so special, so unique and so specific like this should have a special place on the tv, should be noticed on the 8pm news channel, and it isnt. This is something i cant understand. Although they handle with big amounts of money and they are stars in the poker world, all this big events (except WSOP) continue to be "underground". They could arrange many sponsors, like the water or beer they drink during games, and other trade marks sure would be interested in entering this world. Eventhough, good luck to durrr, he deserves to win!

This is very true. Poker is the only "sport" that supports itself. All the prize moneys come from the players and not from sponsors. I don´t see buy-ins in tennis, golf, etc... All those are sponsored by brands that actually pay a lot of money to sponsor those events.

Poker is no sport. And only a small number of people will be willing to pay a lot of money to watch poker being played. So there is no point in sponsorship.
