Hey all,
I'm going for Gold Star on Pokerstars this month so thought I would create this blog to let people keep track of my progress. (that's if your interested lol)
OK. So i started two days late at the start of the month with a bankroll of $281. I'm playing two NL10 zoom tables for a few hours on a morning and some tourneys on a night. (not great brm i know, but i think i have an edge over the competition) I've been up and down quite a bit in the sessions as zoom poker is very swingy.
As of now my bankroll is at $357 and I've earned 567/2500 points. I'm also pretty close to getting my second VIP Stellar Reward for the year aswell ($10) 613/750.
Will probably be updating every other day. PS ID: bullet1tooth
Good luck on the felts all and thanks for reading/following.

What is your motive for becoming a gold star? Is it just the challenge or is it because of rakeback?
Because you get a free t-shirt LOL nah, its definitely the challenge. I like to have a goal to aim for when i play otherwise i just lose interest and motivation. So this way i will hopefully get to my goal, boost my bankroll quite a bit AND win a nice t-shirt lol

well I believe 28 buy-ins is enough in the micro stakes especially when you have a considerable edge over the opponents... and if you go thru a massive downswing you can drop down so I think your bankrollmanagement is ok.... Great start moneywise and you're reaching your goal fast Keep it up mate

I think 28 (now 35) buy ins is fine for normal cash games but i think you should have at least 50 for the zoom tables. I can lose and regain 4 or 5 buy ins in one two hour session on there so its very swingy. thanks for your kind words bud

That's why i like mtt's because you have something to aim for and there is an end to the game. thanks for the good luck wishes

I'm with you on that one bulletman,.... Having a target in mind sure makes the game more interesting by far...as opposed to just willy-nilly playing this and that and this and that...although, winning money in poker is cool no matter how ya do it...
...as for me,....my goal is just to maintain my 'lowly' ChromeStar status...lol...
Just stick to your game plan and don't waiver,...and you should be alright....

Good job, keep updating your results and you can also bring some questions along if you like, while we look at your ups (hope there's no downs). Be careful with the swingy zoom. Will this be the only thing you'll be playing with this bankroll?

good luck on your new goal. From the datat youare posting in the first post it seems that it wont take you much to reach that goal. If you already have covered one fifth you can accomplish it before the month ends for sure. And you have a nice profit so far. Go for the Ks profit

I don't like to speak ill of the dead but she was a cunt. She fooked this country up and caused many families to suffer which drove people to suicide. I have no compassion for that woman. Just need Cameron and Osborne to go the same way because they are doing exactly the same thing now. Horrible toffs the lot of em. The only exception is Boris Johnson.
Thanks for the other comments tho appreciate it

Thanks a lot Mober. These results are from around the 3rd of April until now. I think I need around 82 points a day from now until the 30th shouldn't be too difficult if I don't go on a crazy downswing lol

Ya,....the old girl left a bad taste in MY mouth too,...and I don't even LIVE in England...
She did ONE good thing though as far as I'm concerned,...she was instrumental in pushing the bill through the British Parliament which gave Canada it's full independance from you guys....
We called it 'patriating the constitution'... No longer did we need Royal Assent to pass federal laws here...

Well i wasn't going to update until tomorrow but this session was pretty crazy! I sat down at 10am played until 12pm and managed to get more than the points i needed for the day but ended up $4 down. The 1st hand i was in i had AK and re-raised to 90c from a 30c opener. he called and the flop was AA2 rainbow. Guy bets i call. turn 4 guy bets again i re-raise and he goes all in. i call and the river is a Q. He had AQ not a great start to the session. Things didn't really get any better. As soon as i built up a nice stack there was a set up to knock me back down. i had aces beat twice by an under pair hitting sets. couldn't win with KK either, always an A on the flop or some crap. Anyway like i said was only $4 down in the end. I had some food and a bit of a break and decided to go back on. second session was way better Just finished now and as it stands my bankroll is $385. status points 686/2500 and my VIP reward points is at 732/750
Might play a bit more to get my stellar reward seeing as tho I'm so close

DONT! that's how the poker demons start to control ur poker play mindset lol... So many times coz of that i ended up busting more than the reward itself to get it. Dont even need to go that far... remember Ronins story? enough said... stick with the plan

Well its done lol! didn't make anything but points $395 in my account now.
thanks for the words of wisdom I try not to let that effect my game. i just play my normal game and the points just come.
Hopefully my roll will keep on going in the right direction. I don't mind making a little at a time as long as i am 'making' and not 'losing'

GL with your plans and at the Zoom tables. Seems you are running good. I also play Zoom from time to time but atm more Rush poker at FT, because of the First deposit bonus. But for me I guess I will never be Gold status at PS, because I don´t have the time to grind enough

I thought that I wouldn't be able to do it either but you only need to earn less than a hundred points a day for a month and I've found that you can easily do that playing 2 nl10 zoom tables for 2-3 hours a day. So it's not unrealistic for the average, casual player to achieve gold.
Good luck at the rush tables, hope you clear your bonus

Lol @ demodawwgy thanks for that
------------ Oh dear! what a horrible session. I was getting beat left right and centre with everything. Top two pair got beat by 73suited (flush) yes i did raise preflop lol. I re-raised preflop with AA got shoved on by 1010 and he hit a 10 on the flop. another bad play rewarded Missed every draw i went for (some very strong ones) AK beat by turned set of 9's (A on the flop) There was a lot more but those are the main ones i remember. Then it just started to go a bit better and the server shut down for maintenance lol Anyway bankroll is now at $373 from $406 (won a bit in a tournament last night) Don't know what my points are because stars isn't back up yet but i think i earned about 82.
Thanks for reading

Good luck Bullettooth! If you make it to Gold Status you can play the Monthly $100,000 VIP Tournament! That's would be very nice. And, you can play the a satellite for the Quarterly $1,000,000 VIP Tournament. Even better lol
btw, did you know that you can become a permanent Gold Star if you join the PokerStars Chat Moderator Program?
