Day 1a and b of the WSOP Europe Cannes Main Event have been played over the weekend. In total, 593 players signed up for the Main Event and made it to the biggest main event in WSOP Europe history. Today, 327players will return to the tables and play Day 2. The chip leader is Lari Sihvo, from Finland, with 144,725, closely followed by Tommy Vedes (142,775) and James Rosen (147,000). Unfortunately there aren't so many big names in the top of the remaining field, though, the first prize of 1,400,000 euro will make sure that the rest of the tournament will be interesting to follow.

Cannes is no longer known only for the cinema prizes and events and it just entered the history of WSOP as the city with the record field of this tourney. Nice news. With a €1400K first prize, i think it wouldnt be hard to expect so many players. Now we just have to wait to see who will take it!

Bring some Poker winnings, because it´s NOT cheap over there. Confused

Spent a holiday there as well some years back.
Very nice like B1gfoot says.

Must be the Bomb playing the WSOP there, though I haven´t seen Vegas since I was a little kid and it was just the strip and not much else.
I´m talking waaaaaay back. Big Smile

Still hoping to see Vegas the way it is now sometime...
nut if you get the chance, the south of france is definitely worth a visit as well.

It was clear that that place will attract a lot more people than las vegas nowadays, i mean las vegas isn't the place that it used to be a couple of years ago...

And yes, southern france it's an absolutely great place to be, so there is no wonder why so many people registered Smile
