Not less than 1055 players paid $1,000 and entered Event #53: Ladies No-Limit Hold'em Championship. After 3 days of play, the field had been narrowed down to only 15 players. The final table began during Sunday afternoon with 9 players (8 Americans and 1 Canadian). One of these finalists, believe it or not, was a man!

It only took 6 hours of play before a winner had been crowned, Marsha Wolak (picture). For the win she received the coveted gold bracelet and  $192,344 in prize money! Jonathan Epstein, one of the few men who participated in the tournament, ended up in 9th place for $13,701. When Epstein had been eliminated, tournament director Robbie Thompson announced, "Finally, welcome to the Ladies Event!"

Final table results:
1. Marsha Wolak $192,344
2. Karina Jett $119,010
3. Carol Tomlinson $74,459

6. Katherine Stahl $29,909
7.Jennifer Cowan $22,750

Its kinda stupid having a ladies event, did anyone see the mens event?
Poker is not a physical sport, so why do they need a special event?
Jonathan Epstein can play the event as it is sexual discrimination to not let him.
I hate this event, what is next, split it in to ages??
The only good thing about it is that it does get more women playing, but you must wounder why they dont want to play men!
Are men actually better? well look at the past ladies events and men(the few who enter) do well.
Now if they change this to topless ladies event, Im all for it, and will enter.

This is not something new, here i'm talking about the ladies no limit holdem event but it's weird that this year they allowed mens to register and join the action Confused

If i remember correctly so far( i men prevoius years) mens were banned from registering to any wsop ladies event, but this year it seems they made a exception, and frankly it's pretty weird Smile

Frankly i would't mind if that guy was the champion, i mean how funny would be for a men to win the ladies nlh championship, he would probably would have get a pink wsop bracelet lol Smile

Well, congratulations to the winner alhough i don't know anythiong about her, but looking at the entry fee i think many were tempted to enter this event, 1k is not that much for a wsop event afterall Blink
