In a video interview with the Financial Times that was released a few days ago, Caesars Entertainment Chief Executive Officer Gary Loveman spoke about online poker's future in the US. Lovemen believes that online poker in the US will be back soon and that it will create thousands of jobs.

"I do believe there's a will in Congress to correct this," he said.  "There's a sense of inevitability that this ought to be something people should do and that we ought to clean up the regulatory and policing environment for it and that ‘s what we're seeking."

Ceasars owns, for example, World Series of Poker and previously also decided to back an online solution for their customers. The company has said that they are well-placed if an American license system for online poker will be introduced. According to Loveman, the way of looking at things has changed"

"It's not called "it can happen" or "if it happens" anymore. Now the feeling is "when will it happen and under what circumstances". And that's a very important change of mindset."

Loveman thinks that it will create perfect gaming environments where poker is regulated and clear to both players and the US government. However, he points out that it's a big gap to fill.

"There is a huge demand for something that doesn't exist right now. If this goes through we can give thousands of Americans a job."

Yes, but with US regulation comes heavy taxation. I think legislation will change the face of poker dramatically, as players who are barely +ev grinders, living off rakeback will find their profit margins shrinking, quite possibly into the negative.

I'm all for creating a level playing field and regulating the industry as their are glaring problems, but to me it just seems like yet another cash grab by good ol' uncle sam.

everyone's saying legislation will be brought soon but there's no action or real progress in the matter and in the end its the politicians who'll decide if online poker will be legalized or not

I guess this would be nice for US players.
But for sure the governement will get a hand on the business and will demand a piece of the cake.
