The Asia Pacific Poker Tour Melbourne Main Event attracted a field of 260 players. The tournament was dominated by Australians and Kiwis. In fact, 26 of 28 paid places were taken by Australians and Kiwis - only a Russian and a Malaysian reached the money.

Anyhow, it was a local who took home the tournament, Leo Boxell. Boxel has been around the poker scene for quite some time. For example, he won the New Zealand Championship already 10 years ago. However, this win was the biggest cash in his entire career - 330,000 AUD, or 253,303 euro. In total, Leo Boxell now has 1,345,505 USD in tournament winnings.

Final table results:

1 Leo Boxell Australia $330 000
2 Phillip Willcocks New Zealand $207 600
3 Steve Bouya Australia $116 000
4 Will Jones Australia $88 600
5 Van Marcus Australia $73 300
6 Michael Frydman Australia $58 000
7 Eddie Mascardi Australia $45 800
8 Jackson Zheng New Zealand $36 700
9 Julius Colman Australia $27 500

Congratz to him, Boxell is one of those players you dont hear about a lot, but when u do it is usually a tourney he won. I am sure he could do something at the most famous tables if he finds himself there
