The two starting days of the WSOP Europe Main Event are in the books now. In total, 420 players enterd the tournament for €10,450 each and created a massive €4,032,000 prize pool. Today the second day of the tournament will be played and 230 players have chips left.
Michael Mizrachi (Day 1a) has the lead with 234,850 chips and Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier (Day 1b) is his closest opponent with 190,400 chips. Other poker stars with plenty of chips are, for example, JC Alvarado in 3rd place with 180,675, Daniel Negreanu is ranked 7 in chips (137,500), and 12-time gold bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth is in 14th place (116,150).
48 of the remaining squad of players will receive a share of the massive prize pool - minimum payout €20,150 - the winner will get €1,022,37! Right now the chances of well-known pros making deep runs are very good, but of course nothing is certain since there's a long way to go. We will simply have to wait and see how Day 2 plays out. Check back tomorrow for another update.
