The first starting day of PokerStars EPT Deuville Main Event saw a field of 339 players. 221 of those players survived the day and will get one day's rest before it's time to get back into the action. The chip leader, Kristijonas Andrulis from Lithuania, will bring 162,600 chips to Day 2. Only 400 chips behind him is Philippe Ma, from France, followed by his fellow countrymen - Elie Payan (141k) and Julien Claudepierre (128k).

Unfortunately not many familiar poker players can be found in the top of the Day 1a field. Let's hope that Day 1b, which starts in a few hours, will take care of that "issue". We will return with an update as soon as Day 1b comes to an end. Stay tuned!

yeah kristijonas andrulis from lithuania- go dude...as far as familiar names are concerned- well poker is a gamble let's not forget, so it is a rare thing to see same faces winning over and over again- even making consecutive final table appearances is a hard task to achieve

339 begining players and only a third of the field went home earlier after the first day? This is a signal that is being very tight. We will most probably watch a huge reduction in the second day, because there must be a lot of players still near from the starting chips, which, with increasing levels, don’t give the player much strength and makes him taking other type of action rather than just the most right ones…
